Chapter 30

Derek's POV

Yesterday was a great day for Liv and I, I found out that I wasn't going to go to jail and Thomas was arrested for abusing Liv. Liv was now free from Thomas for good, just like Maddison. She went back to her apartment last night to rest and finally sleep with no worry. Liv is my one true love forever and always will be, I don't ever want her to leave my side.

*ONE MONTH LATER*

Today, August 9th was Liv and I's one month anniversary since we met. I had the whole day planned out and something special at the end, but how can I tell Liv that I'm leaving for Dancing with the Stars soon? I walked into Liv's apartment with the key she gave me and I found her sound asleep on the couch. I walked up to her and knelt beside her,
"Liv?" I whispered.

Liv was half asleep,
"Mmmhhhh?" She asked, with her eyes still closed.
"Happy Anniversary" I said,
"🎵To you🎵" Liv sang to the "Happy Birthday Song". I laughed,
"To us" I said,
"🎵To us🎵" Liv sang again.
"It's our anniversary" she said, Liv then was wide awake and looked me,
"It's our anniversary!" She said and gave me a hug.

"I thought you forgot" I said,
"I would never" Liv said and we leaned in for a passionate kiss.
"Well, I have the whole entire day planned" I said,
"I'm gonna take a shower" Liv said and made her way to the bathroom.
"Can I join?" I joked and we both laughed, I waited for Liv to get out of the shower and we were ready for our Anniversary Day. Hours after walking through Central Park, taking selfies in Times Square and dinning at the best restaurant in New York City for dinner it was time for the final stop.

Liv closed her eyes as I guided her to the secret location.
"Where are you taking me?" Liv asked,
"You ask a lot of questions" I said,
"I got it from my mom" she said. We finally made it,
"You ready?" I asked and Liv nodded her head.
"Okay, open your eyes" I said, Liv opened to eyes to reveal that she was standing in front of Radio City Music Hall, where we first met.

Liv was getting teared up,
"One month ago" I said, Liv then gave me a hug and I hugged her. We made our way to the doors to go in, but Liv looked nervous,
"Derek, I'm not sure we're aloud to be here" she said.
"I know the security guard" I said and we were in, the elderly security guard, Ira, scared us by jumping in front of Liv and I, holding a pineapple.
"Freeze, you pilgrims!" He said,
"I may be old, but I can take a hit!" Ira continued.

"Should we make a run for it?" Liv asked.
"We could make a walk for it!" I said and Liv chuckled,
"Ira, it's Derek. Derek Hough?" I said. Ira then realized,
"Oh, yeah. I remember you, you were the big weenie dog in the New York Spring Spectacular!" Ira said.
"No, no, Ira. Um, could I possibly bring my girlfriend to the stage area?" I asked,
"Why yes!" Ira said,
"For such a pretty girl" he continued, while patting my head instead of Liv's.

"Thanks, Ira" I said and Liv and I started to head inside. I opened the door to see the stage and the twinkling lights that I set us, I guided Liv to the spot where she feel in my arms the day we met.
"I remember it perfectly, you were right here leaving the show and I came up to you" I said,
"And the rest is history" Liv finished. Liv and I then kissed for several moments, I then had to tell her.

"Liv, I have to tell you something" I said, I took a deep breath.
"I'm leaving for Los Angeles" I said and Liv looked devastated.
"I leave in a week for Dancing with the Stars" I said, Liv's reaction still hasn't changed,
"This is it? That's why you did all those things because that was our last time together?" Liv asked with tears streaming down her face.
"No, no, Liv. That's not why" I said, I grabbed Liv's hands,
"I'm in love with you" I said.

        "And I always will be, that's why I want you to come" I said, Liv looked scared now.
"Come with me, to Los Angeles" I said,
"We could have a big house, be near the beach-" I said, but Liv cut me off.
"Derek? Is that what you wanted to ask me all day for a whole month?" She asked,
"No, that's one of the things I have to ask" I said and Liv looked confused. I took a deep breath, my hands were shaking as I grabbed something out of my pocket and got down on one knee.

        As I opened the box to reveal a Tiffany Engagement Ring, Liv covered her mouth in shock as happy tears were streaming down her face. I started to choke up,
"I love you to death, you're my best friend" I said.
"I don't think there's anyone else in the world like you, I want a lifetime with you. We get out of this hell hole where your father and Maddison can't get us, but I'll only go to Los Angeles and continue my career, if you would have me" I said, this was it.
"Olivia Faith Newell" I said, I was incredibly nervous for this moment,
"Will you...marry me?" I asked.

        Liv was crying as she nodded her head 'Yes'.
"You said 'Yes'?" I asked, as Liv nodded her head 'Yes' again,
"YOU SAID 'YES'" I said and Liv and I hugged as I spun my beauty around. I put the engagement ring on Liv's finger and we kissed for a long time, this was the beginning of a whole new story. I was eager to continue on with my beautiful Liv forever.
