Lacey's POV
8 Months Later
"Good morning." Kelly whispered into my hair.
I stretched out, refreshed from actually getting a good night's rest. "Good morning to you too." I said quietly.
"Ugh." He groaned as he climbed on top of me. "We need to get to work." I noticed he looked at our clock.
I leaned up and kissed his cheek. "I guess that means you better get off of me, huh?"
He looked down at me. "You wanna bet?" He lunged forward, attacking my neck with kisses.
"Ah!" I yelped. "Kelly! No! We have to go!" I pushed him as hard as I could, but he wasn't budging. "Kelly, please!"
He chuckled and kissed my neck. "I guess since you asked so nicely." He lifted some of his weight off me. "I can let you go to work."
I crawled out from underneath him as soon as possible. "Unlike you, I shower." I joked and ran to our bathroom.
Our apartment was beautiful. All hardwood floors and trim. It had a Victorian appeal to it that I loved endlessly.
I walked into the bathroom and started the water for a shower.
I stepped into the shower, letting the water run over my skin. It felt amazing.
"I do so shower." I heard Kelly say as the shower curtain moved.
I felt the cool breeze hit me, as well as Kelly's hands.
"Hey now." I smiled as I felt his body press against my back. "We need to get to work on time this shift."
He laughed. "Baby, we will."
I was happy that we showered and did get to work on time.
"Hey guys!" Herman said as usual. Just like everytime we came in.
"Hi, Herrmann." I said happily as Kelly and I walked in, hand in hand.
"Hey," Kelly said cooly as we walked right past Herman.
Herman simply smiled and walked the other way.
"What's up, babe?" I asked quietly.
"Huh?" He acted dumbfounded. "What do you mean?"
"Oh come on." I let go of his hand. We had made our way into the hallway outside if the locker room. "You totally blew off Herman. Why? What's wrong?"
"Nothing is wrong, Lace." He said in a cold tone. "I need to go talk to Chief." He walked away, leaving me alone.
I had no idea what was going on with him. But I had a job to do, and I needed to do it. Kelly and I agreed that we would leave personal buisness at home and the job at work. Even though I couldn't hook up with him in his office anymore, things were going great. We had been together for the past eight months. It was easy, like breathing. Kelly and I had little fights every now and then like any normal couple, but our relationship was a thousand times better than Tim and mine ever was.
I loved it.
But I needed to get changed and get to work.
"Hey, girl." Brett patted my shoulder as she walked past me into the locker room.
"Hey." I said shyly then followed her into the locker room.
I went to my locker and threw my bag in. I pulled off my shirt off.
"I feel like I'm always walking in at the wrong time." I heard Matt say.
I turned around to see that he was getting into his locker.
