And so we sit here now, Jesse and me, Sam and Lilly, James and Emma, Only six, when before there were eight. And we miss them, so much, we miss Josh, and his silent amusement, we miss Daniel, and his clever, mischievous twinkle in his eyes. Because without them, we are less, so much less. And yes, we miss Daniel, not Liam, the half crazy man, that made my life a misery for so long, Levi’s brother. No, not Liam. Daniel. Daniel and Josh. It should have been me and Jesse, Sam and Lilly, Emma and James, Daniel and Josh.
I gave the police my statement, told them everything.
My so called father is in prison, and Liam died in the cross fire as the police reached us.
Now it is just us six. Finally I am safe, I feel safe, but it comes at a price.
And so no, we are not who we were, none of us. Now we are so much stronger.
We can take anything that walks our way.
Sam and Lilly.
Emma and James.
Me and Jess.
Just us, against the world.
