Amanda's POV:
~the next day~
I walked out of my last class, Social Studies, with Amy. We go to our lockers which are right next to each other. "Amy are you okay about the whole Daniel thing?" I asked her. "Well,"she said, "I'm not sure. I mean, he got me this really cute necklace, which was so sweet, and he was really sad when I told him I'd think about it. And even though it's been a day I miss him. I'm gonna go walk home, I'll talk to you later" "Okay Bye", I said closing my locker. Then someone put their arms around my waist. I looked and saw it was Ethan. "Hey babe", he said. "Hey", I said turning around and pecking him on the cheek. We intertwine hands and walk down the hallway, talking about our day. We are outside, Ethan waiting for Cara and me waiting for Edwin. We are sitting on the steps of the school holding hands when Cara comes out, meaning Ethan has to leave. He hugs me for a while like we usually do and whispers in my ear,"I love you. See you later." And he kisses my cheek. I say,"Bye Ethan. I love you too. We hug one more time and he goes to Cara's car. Zach comes out the school and stands next to me and says,"So I saw that-" I cut him off by saying,"Zach, I know you are still getting used to me dating Ethan but-" He cuts me off by saying,"I was gonna say that I saw you and Ethan before. And I'm feeling better about it. But I saw Edwin by the steps looking around so I'm pretty sure he saw it too." I immediately get scared,"Zach no. He's gonna scream at me. I can't do it." He says,"It will be okay. I'll be here with you." He hugs me and I hug him back. Zach has always been there for me and I've been there for him since we would always go through the same stuff since our mom doesn't really like us and basically never has. Edwin walks down the stairs and says,"Let's go." Edwin gets in the drivers seat, Zach in the passengers seat and me in the back. Edwin starts driving and says,"So Amanda I saw something pretty interesting a couple minutes ago. You were with Ethan O'Brien and hugging him." I say,"Edwin I-" I'm cut off by Edwin taking a breath and saying,"Amanda are you dating him?" I say tearing up,"Yea." He yells,"DAMMIT AMANDA!",hitting the wheel making the car honk, making me jump. Zach looks back at me and grabs my hand. Edwin takes another breath and says,"Amanda, you know I don't want you dating. And then on top of that you date an O'Brien. You know I don't like them. He pulls over and looks at Zach and says,"Did you know about this?" Zach nods and says "He makes her happy, Edwin". Edwin looks at me and says,"Is that true?" I nod my head. Edwin looks at Zach and then back at me and says,"Ok. Just because he makes you happy Manda. But if he even DARES to hurt you, I will beat his ass so hard-", I say,"Edwin! He won't do anything to me." We go home and I call Ethan and tell him to meet me at Starbucks. I walk in and order," 1 tall Caramel Ribbon Crunch please" "Is that it", the man said. "Yes" "That will be $10", I quickly took out $10 from my bag and gave it to the cashier, get my drink and sit where I see Ethan. He gets up, hugs me and we both sit down. I say,"So Edwin saw us earlier." He said,"What did he say?" I say,"He said basically what Zach said yes but he'll kick your ass." We both laugh and he grabs my hand and says,"I'm glad i finally get to be with you." I say,"Same babe." After we had our drinks we walked to Ethan's house. I told Edwin where I was going, considering I know what his reaction would be. We walk upstairs and I peek my head in Alyssa's room and wave to her and then I go to Ethan's room and we started watching 'Mean Girls' on Netflix. Halfway through the movie we got bored so I sat on his lap and we started talking about random things. Then we kissed, it wasn't like nasty, it was short and sweet. After we pulled away, we just smile at each other. "I know I've never told you this but, I really love you" he said looking into my eyes. I blushed and said, "I love you too". We then hugged. Then my phone beeps and its a text from Edwin;Hey, I'm outside to pick you up.
I look up from my phone and tell Ethan,"Edwin's here." We both walked downstairs to where Edwin's car was. Ethan hugs me and says,"I love you." I say,"I love you too." I get in the passenger seat of the car and Edwin says to Ethan,"O'Brien if you do ANYTHING to her I swear-" Ethan says,"I won't hurt her. I promise." We pull out and drive home. Soon we are home and we both go inside and go to our rooms. After a while, I get hungry and walk downstairs and I see Zach and Edwin watching tv downstairs. I walk into the kitchen and I'm looking for something to eat when someone says,"So you went to a boy's house tonight, Amanda?" I turn around and see my mother. I say,"Yea." She says,"Is this boy your boyfriend?" I take a breath and say,"Yes." "Did you guys do anything?" I say,"No." She says,"Yeah ok, you worthless piece of shit. "I mumble"And your supposed to be my mother." She gets closer to me and says,"What was that you little whore?",and she pushes me down. "You're just a mistake. Your father and I just forgot to use protection." It just hurts me that my so called mother would say that to me. Zach must've walked in during all that because he says,"Amanda is definitely not worthless, she is the best little sister in the world and a great person. If you can't see that, she doesn't need you." Mom walks closer to Zach and says,"Shut up you were a mistake too. The only one that wasn't a mistake was Edwin. I wanted to get an abortion with you two but your father wouldn't let me". She also pushes Zach and he falls. Edwin must have heard everything because his face is red, his fists are clenched and he says,"REALLY MOM? IS THIS HOW LOW YOU ARE? YOU ARE BEING SO RUDE TO YOUR OWN CHILDREN! She says,"It's not my fault they deserve it." He says,"THEY DONT DESERVE ANYTHING YOU'VE PUT THEM THROUGH. ZACH AND AMANDA ARE TWO OF THE SWEETEST KIDS YOU'LL EVER MEET AND THEY SHOULDN'T BE PUT THROUGH THIS CRAP." She says,"Whatever. I guess it's a good time to tell you kids I'm going to try to put you both,",pointing at Zach and I "for adoption." She walks out the kitchen in her 9" heels and Edwin helps up me and Zach and says,"There's no way in hell I'm letting her put you guys up for adoption." God, I hate her. But luckily I have two brothers that love me and will do anything for me.
