Amanda's POV: Cara drops us off and we thank her for everything. I see Edwin what I think is exchanging numbers with Cara. It's nice to see them finally getting along. I hug Ethan and he pecks me on the cheek and says,"I'll text you later babe." We get out the car and walk to the house. Before we go in,Edwin stops and says,"No matter what happens in there, I love you." We hug and Edwin opens the door. And our mother is standing in the middle of the hallway. She says in an obviously fake way,"Zach! Amanda! I missed you guys so much." She comes to try to hug us but as an instinct, Zach and I both step back, standing next to Edwin. Edwin says, voice cracking,"Stay away from them." Acting innocent she says,"Why? I'm their mother." I step up and say,"Because you meant for Zach and I to get kidnapped because you only wanted Edwin. Zach and I don't need you or dad. It's not like you help us anyways. The only person we need is Edwin. Someone that we know actually cares about us and loves us." She stares at me and says,"You little bitch. You don't disrespect me, I'm your mother." I mumble,"Well you don't act like one." Then my dad, who had walked in, slaps me and says,"Watch your tone." I'm holding my cheek when out the corner of my eye I see overprotective brother mode starting for Edwin and Zach. Both of them have their teeth gritted and their hands clenched. Zach pulls me into a tight hug while Edwin is yelling at our parents. He says,"Your so called "parenting skills" are trying to give away your youngest children to keep me. After all of this, I have lost all respect for you and so have they. Once I turn 18 next month, we are out of here. He turns around to me and Zach and says,"Let's go." And we follow him towards the stairs. Mom then says,"You can't take them I have custody." Edwin says,"I can't take them? Watch me." We go upstairs and agree it would be safe to stay if Edwin's room. Edwin says,"I'm gonna keep you guys safe. Just one more month and we are out of here." We hug Edwin and Zach and I lay on either side of Edwin and watch Netflix. I then fall asleep with Edwin's arm around me. It's good to know that him and Zach will always be there for me.
