Working This Out

I was beyond angry for the rest of the afternoon. I did my homework which took about an hour and a half. Then I took a nap afterwards ignoring all the calls from random friends on my phone. My phone was blowing up with messages and voice mails about stupid Evelyn and who she is. I woke up around five thirty to find that the both of them haven't come home yet. I thougth they wouldn't stay out late, I mean it was only baby shopping, so I got started on dinner. By seven o'clock they still weren't home. I ate dinner alone and it was dreadful. I was missing my family. I am Justin's mate, if this what my life is going to be like with Evelyn and her kids then I want out. I'll just be that wife that stays home and takes care of everything. I did very much want to work things out with Justin, but it's as if he only cares about Evelyn, so I waited. It wasn't until twelve in the morning that I heard the front door open. When Justin entered our room I was reading my romantic novel and having my cup of tea. I looked up, but quickly looked down. Saying I was furious was an understatement.

"Hey, why are you up so late?", he asked coming to kiss my forehead.

I stopped him by putting my hand on his chest,"I don't know Justin, maybe it's because you left a note telling me to wait for you so we can talk", I replied sarcastically.

He smacked the side of his head,"Oh my god, I totally forgot! Evelyn and I were out shopping and then-"

"Then what Justin! You two were out for hours and I'm pretty sure Babies R Us closes at like ten."

He sighed and ran his hand through his soft, blonde hair.

"Justin...I don't know if I can even trust you right now. What were you doing?"

"I...we were...we were out, ok. We were riding around town. Honestly I didn't want to come home and face the mess I had created. I know you don't like Evelyn, but can we at least let her stay during the pregnancy and the year after."

I bore into his eyes to try to see if he was lying and so far he was telling the truth," She can stay for the whole pregnancy, but after I want her out. I want to start our life, Justin. She can't stay here forever, even if she had your child."

He looked irritated and hurt by the fact that I wanted her out as soon as possible. A part of me thought the he had grown some type of feelings for Evelyn, but I couldn't be sure.

He took of his shirt and pants, then climbed into bed beside me. He faced me and said,"I want us, to start over. I don't want us to fight, I'll tell Evelyn what her deadline is. Then we can do whatever you want together."

I smiled. I was so happy that Justin finally came to his senses. I didn't want to seem like...like a stuck up, selfish, brat. But I don't think I could've dealt with having to face Evelyn all the time. It wasn't the child that was bothering me, it was her. It was so obvious the girls hates me. I turned out the light, placed my cup down, and crawled under the covers. Justin started to stroke my hair then leaned in.

"I love you, Brianna". His breathe tickling my ear.
