"Mom please," I groaned. "Can you stop yanking so hard on the dress. I swear I can't breath."
She huffed as she pulled the strings to my corset, "Well I could have sworn it fit last month when you tried it on. I don't remember it being so tight."
I placed my hands over the tiny bump that was hardly noticeable. The pressure on my stomach was starting to build up as I had put on a few pounds in the past couple of weeks. It wouldn't be long before school started up again and our mothers had finished planning our wedding out. Eli and I were going to get married today.
I was still super weird to me, the whole concept of marriage. I couldn't quite understand the importance of the ceremony as our traditions were different in my pack but it was important to Eli so it meant a lot to me. After returning from our trip to New York Eli and I were so much closer than before. Despite the fact that having a baby would probably bring us closer I was still trying to be a better version of myself. I did my best to be honest and respectful and Eli even made the effort to be more understanding. With the wedding almost out of the way the only thing left to do was to share the big news. Something that would probably have to happen sooner than we wanted to.
"Ah ha!" my mom circled around to face me. "Oh you look beautiful honey!"
She rushed to the small wooden table in the Eli's mother's bedroom. Mom grabbed the long veil and pinned into my braided bun, "Oh wait until your father sees you! He's gonna be so sad that you won't need him anymore."
I heavily rolled my eyes at her dramatics, "Mom I'll always need you and Dad. I'm not going anywhere it is just like if Eli and I had a Mating Ceremony at our pack."
"Yes well, I just want you to never forget that you'll alway be our baby girl, okay?" she kissed my cheek while giving me a warm smile.
I giggled, "Of course mom. I love both you."
As she turned away to touch up my makeup the door opened, Andrea's head peeking out from behind the frame, "Oh my gosh you look gorgeous! If Eli isn't literally balling at the alter then I'll give him something to cry about!"
I snorted loudly while my mom attempted to apply more blush. "Stay still," she demanded sternly. I pressed my lips together to prevent the laughter that was building up from escaping.
"Anyway," Andrea entered the room, shutting the door carefully behind her. She wore a peach bridesmaid dress the hugged her curves and flared at the bottom. "I came in here to ask if you were ready. I think we're about to get started.
Small butterflies erupted in my stomach, especially since I wasn't completely sure how weddings worked. I had only heard about them from other humans or seen them on television but I really didn't know what I was getting myself into.
My mother tapped the makeup brush against her hand before placing it back onto the table, "Well I think we've done everything. Are you ready to be married?"
I gave them a thin smile, "As ready as I'll ever be."

I waited impatiently with my arm linked with my father's behind the big wooden doors that lead to the backyard at Eli's pack house. My stomach felt like it was constantly turning and it was hard to distinguish if it was severe morning sickness or nervousness.
"Hmm," my dad hummed. "Brianna...I know I haven't been easy on you and Eli. I hope you understand that I just wanted to make sure that no one else was taking advantage of you. But I believe that Eli is a great guy...and that I'm happy for the both of you."
My lips started to tremble as my emotions spun out of control, "Dad stop, I'll start crying."
"But I mean it Bri," he patted my hand. "I'm absolutely sure that Eli will treat you out and I see that he makes you happy. You deserve him and he deserves you."
