Chapter 5

ASTRID.

I was moving the last few boxes I had to my new house. I walked through the door, and felt a wave of sadness wash over me. Its been long since my parents had passed away but I always felt empty, lonely and sad when I think about them. 

I was walking around, just looking at the furniture, the pictures, decorations. It all felt familiar, yet I felt like I didn't belong here. I made my way upstairs, and saw three doors. I opened the first one, and saw a little balcony. I opened the second door and found, what looked like a spare room. I opened the last door and saw a large room with not much stuff in it but really a lot of space. I decided that this will be my room. I went back downstairs and saw aunt Jenna stand there waiting for me. She smiled at me and I went over and hugged her.

"Thanks, for the help and everything" I say.

"No problem. Why don't you join me for dinner? Meet the family?" She asked politely.

"Sure, why not"

"Great. We'll see you at 6:30"

She waved goodbye, and walked off. I took my last boxes and headed upstairs unpacking almost everything. When I was done, I looked around. I kinda need more stuff to fill the space but I will go shopping with the girls to do that. The rest of the house was furnished. The living room was done modernly, with grey couches, a plasma flat screen T.V. and a glass coffee table. The rest of the house was basically the same. 

I went upstairs and took a hot shower, with some music on. I got out and wrapped myself in a towel. I checked the time and saw I had an hour to get ready for the dinner. I put on ripped black skinny jeans, blue converse, a black v-neck shirt, and a brown leather jacket. I straightened my hair and did my make up. I quickly brushed my teeth, went downstairs, locked the house, and walked next door.

As I walked, I saw a a light coming from a window, right in front of mine. OK, so the person in that room can see everything I do. Note to self, keep windows closed. I walked to the porch and rang the doorbell. I heard footsteps and saw Aunt Jenna open the door. She smiled and gave me a hug.

"Hi" She greeted. " Let me just go get my son"

"Ok" Is all I say as I stood and waited downstairs, looking around. 

She went upstairs and I walked around a bit and looked at the photos. It was mostly Aunt Jenna and her husband, and a little boy with light green eyes and dark hair. He looks familiar. I heard voices and footsteps so I started walking towards the dining room, but before I was there I got cut off by a deep, husky familiar voice.

"Ah, we meet again" I turned around and saw, Kai Walker. Walker. Should have guessed. I smiled. I mean what else can I do. The hot new guy is my neighbor and I kind of liked the idea of it.
