Adam's POV
I wake up In a cold sweat and spin my head to be met with the glare of my alarm clock, 3:28 am, sounds about right. I sigh, knowing I am not going to get any more sleep tonight. I keep having this reoccurring dream, it's weird. I'm alone in a large room full of mirrors, I look closer and it turns out they're not mirrors, but TV's disguised to look like mirrors. I suddenly start to panic and am kicking at these colossal TV's, frantically looking for a way out, when a beautiful girl appears on all of the TV'S. She knows me. She knows my name. She calls out for me her face streaming with tears, she reaches out her hand to me, I reach out to her. We're about to touch, when she screams, and the TV's morph back into mirrors and begin to crack and blood pours from the crevices. It's then that I wake up, because I know that its my blood.
I roll to the edge of the bed and slowly make my way out of it. I grab my black skinnies from my drawer an slip them on before groggily shuffling my way downstairs to make some fried bread.

The day pans out like any other. I eat. I try and sleep. I fail. I make some music. I feel happier. I go back and tweak my music. Nope. Not right. Need to start over. Eat again. Go for a walk. Call mom, tell her 'I've been out today'. It's a lie. Try and sleep. Fail. But then the phone rings.
'Hello?'
'Adam it's Steve'
Aw no.
'I need you to do me a massive favour without asking any questions Adam, clear your spare room, I'll be over in less than an hour'
'O-Okay' my voice wavers
*click*
I stood there with the phone still to my ear. What massive favour? Why was my manager calling me so late at night? Was it serious? Was the record label dropping me?' An abundance of thoughts whirred around in my head as I stood there. Stunned silent.
I took a deep breath in, slowly lowered the phone down from my ear, placed it on the table, and calmly made my way upstairs to begin tidying up the landfill site that was my spare room. For an hour I wrapped up cables, put spare or unwanted musical parts into boxes, tidied up sheet after sheet of unused lyrics, and finally unearthed the single bed from underneath the mountain of junk. Woah, there's a bed in here?. I managed a light-hearted chuckle before the nerves kicked in again. Oh boy. What was I in for.
I sat on my downstairs couch for almost half an hour, twiddling my thumbs before the doorbell rang. I jumped up, took a big breath in, and let an even bigger breath out. And started the highly anticipated walk to the door.
'Adam.'
'Steve'
Steve goes in for a hug and I take it, not knowing what to do with my hands, they end awkwardly patting his upper back. He's carrying a small suitcase. There's a short awkward pause before the most beautiful creature I have ever set eyes on in my life creeps out from behind him. She had golden blonde hair that flowed in waves down to her waist, and crystal blue eyes. She looked at me inquisitively.
'This is Skye, Skye this is Adam'
'It's a pleasure to meet you Skye' I smiled at her.
Her gaze dropped to the floor.
'Adam we need to talk, why don't you go upstairs Skye, Adam won't mind'
'N-no not at all, of course' I blurted out
She tiptoed past me and up the stairs. Quietly closing the spare room door behind her. Steve let out a huge sigh and took me by the shoulder.
'Sit down Adam'
I nervously sat down on the furthest end of my couch, my hands neatly placed on my lap. Steve followed shortly after.
'Adam this is going to sound absurd, and you may object, but the fact of the matter is you don't have a choice'
I swallowed. Hard.
'She has to stay here with you until further notice. All I can tell you is if you let her out of your sight, you put yourself and her in grave danger, you understand?'
'T-that's all you can tell me?' I stammered
'Yes. You promised no questions.'
'B-but I d-'
'Adam.'
He cut me off.
'Do this for me. I need you now more than ever. Keep watch over her. She's special. I have to run now, there are a lot of things I need to... sort out. Promise me you'll keep to your word. You said you'd do me this favour.'
I looked down at my feet.
'I promise.'
'Good. Do not let her leave this house alone, keep her out of busy public settings and don't draw attention to yourselves. I'm so sorry Adam.'
And with that he was out the door.
What on earth do I do now.
