One of the best things about the Host Club was that it was always held in an abandoned music room in the school. Since no one ever used it, it was one of the very few quiet places in the school, not to mention there was a piano. During my lunch, I snuck up there to play it so I wouldn't get rusty while being away from the instrument since I had yet to find it in the mansion.
My fingers flew across the keys, knowing the song completely by memory. It was one of my favorites, Comme des Enfants by Cœur de Pirate. I sang the last few lines of the song, "Et malgré ça, il m'aime encore et moi je t'taime un peu plus fort/Mais il m'aime encore, et moi je t'taime un peu plus fort." After playing the last few notes, I smiled to myself.
"That was really good," someone's voice rang out, making me slam my hands down on the piano in surprise. I stood up so fast the piano bench fell over, and I stumbled a bit as I turned around.
"Que faites-vous ici? How long have you been standing there?" I demanded. I paused. "And what did you do to your hair, Hikaru?" Hikaru was standing in the middle of the room with flamingo pink hair that he definitely hadn't had the day before. Kaoru was also not with him.
That was the first time I had seen either of the twins since they stormed out the day before. I had been worried about them, but I figured whatever was going on would clear itself up. It seemed I had been extremely wrong about that. In fact, from the looks of it, it had gotten significantly worse.
"I've been here long enough to hear you sing that entire song." He walked over and picked up the bench, setting it upright. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I just wanted to get away from Kaoru, and I didn't think anyone was up here." He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "And my hair is pink because I wanted to differentiate myself from him. I'm tired of being mistaken as him. I can't take it anymore! At least I got my hair dyed a color that suits me. Honestly, what idiot gets their hair colored light blue? I can barely believe I'm related to him," Hikaru explained angrily.
"You're really going all out for this," I frowned, crossing my arms. I cocked my head at him.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"Did you really think you were going to fool me? I know your fight is feint," I revealed.
He scoffed, "You can't really think that. Why would I want to fake a fight with him? It was only a matter of time before I got fed up with all his games."
I rolled my eyes, "Oh, give it a rest, Hikaru. Kaoru never would have laughed at you like that, and you wouldn't have insulted him in return. I told you that I can see right through people. That scenario wasn't possible for you two." He looked at me, expressionless, for a few seconds. I stared right back. He wasn't going to trick me into thinking I was wrong.
"It's getting pretty annoying always being proven wrong by you," he broke down. He sighed. "Yeah, alright, it's all fake. Would you mind not telling the others?"
I asked, "And what's keeping me from doing that?"
