On Sunday, the 13th, I got to see Mockingjay Part 1. It was so beautiful, and all of a sudden I can't wait for Part 2. Above, I put the link for the theme song, The Hanging Tree. It is absolutely gorgeous, especially if you've seen Mockingjay. The effects bring back memories of how amazing the movie was. And the chords are just incredible. I get severe chills every time I listen to it. I love the part when the whole group joins in singing, and...just...how it builds up overtime. It's a masterpiece. It would've been my song of the day on the 13th if it was anywhere close to EDM. So I'm spotlighting it here instead. Please just take a couple minutes to listen to it. And while we're talking about movies, I also found out that my favorite book, Stargirl, is being made into a movie. The book already overwhelmed me enough. I don't know what to do anymore. I want Hollow and Hummingbird and Nothing Stopping Me to be in it...but anyway.
I had the weirdest dream Monday night. For some reason, my mom and I were going to ask my karate instructor something about water bottles (and MrDaniomi was with us...like, I don't even know). Then I was at a party where I think there were a bunch of boys my age from my youth group (the annoying ones, not the one that likes dubstep). It was both indoors and outdoors, and I was driving around in this little car thing. And then someone called me, and they had this thing that was a mixing table, but part of it was a grill (guess I'm gonna play Hellberg - The Grill on it). Again, I don't even know. Then there was this open bus-like thing with a bunch of seats and a little area near the back for a DJ to sit and put their laptop and controller. Then there was a seat in the very back where a little kid would sit. It was a really weird and random and pointless dream. Please tell me I'm not alone. >_<
On Monday, I watched all of Podcast 073 for the first time, since I missed TwoThirds of the live premiere last Tuesday. I was going to do it on Monday afternoon anyway, but it just so happened that I was home alone. So I watched it on my 40" TV. It was SO much fun. I usually fangirl silently over Monstercat, but for the first time on Monday, I was actually fangirling for real. It felt great to let it out. (I screamed at the TV when Far Away came on...xD) And I captured some awesome videos of it. It was also the first time I've listened to a full episode of the podcast through speakers instead of my headphones. The Escape sounded pretty awesome through the TV. :D Podcast 074 was yesterday, and it was GREAT. I was hoping to hear the new tracks Blast From the Past, Ultimatum (my 2nd fav track on 024 so far!!), and Ballin', and my wish came true. And all three exclusives were AMAZING. I'm very happy that Feint is back with a track that might even top Phosphor for me, and I'm excited to welcome whoever the new artist is. Their track is pretty neat, and the fact that the instruments run forever before the vocals come in really captivated me. Not to mention how awesome the vocals are. It reminded me of Deadmau5. I was pretty surprised there was no preview of Skyline at the end, seeing as:
1. Last time there was a Muzzy takeover like this, there was also a Karma Fields hack
2. Podcast 74 is Podcast 47 with the numbers reversed, and 47 had the Build the Cities preview
3. This is the last podcast before Skyline so I'd be expecting it anyway
But maybe they just made it that way to tease the new artist. And maybe the Muzzy takeover was meant to be...GAAHH #BlameMuzzy Or maybe...the announcer lied and the 'new artist debut' WAS SKYLINE!!! AAAAAAH!!! But I really don't think Monstercat would do that. Then again, think about how unexpected the Build the Cities hack was. But if all else fails...ah well, Skyline will get spotlighted next week. Anyway, I still haven't checked out Ballin' or Don't Stop on YouTube yet...and at this rate, Faster Than Light is probably already up too. I just can't believe the stuff coming out on Monstercat right now! Last week was amazing and this week will be just as good. 024 is gonna be EPIC. I may need to buy it once it releases. I'm very selective with which MCat albums I buy, and it's hard for me to see one unfold in a 2.5-month journey and then not buy it. But all the tracks on 024 are just so amazing. Yesterday was the day Didrick's Monstercat 3-Year Anniversary Mix uploaded one year ago, and right around now is the first anniversary of me becoming really involved as a fan and keeping up with the current releases and with the family. It's in perfect timing too, because lately I've been getting back the old Monstercat vibes a lot. Maybe it's because the air's getting colder...and little things like that can influence my feelings a lot. But I'm very excited to celebrate this kind of anniversary...because Monstercat is my life, and right now I'm realizing again just how amazing it is that I found it. On the 25th, I will have known about Monstercat for 1 1/2 years. Can't wait for the first anniversary of Endeavour, because that was the first album I was there for!!
And lastly...I haven't been depressed since the Saturday before last (the 5th). Needless to say, I'm pretty happy about it; I'm still just trying to figure out if it's for real. I might be getting it back a little today, but it's hard to say. Hope your weeks are going great so far!!
HUMP DAYYYYYYY
