I stomped down the stairs walking out the door. I had nowhere to go but I didn't want to be around him or his dumb ass friends.

I walked down his long driveway and down the street. Where was I gonna go. Usually I would be at home getting ready for work at this time but I couldn't go to work cause I had no idea where I was.

The thought of me turning back around crossed my mind but only for a split second. I meant what I said, I won't live with him. I don't like him nor do I know him.

I pulled put my phone, thankful for it being charged and dialed my friend Missy who is also my co worker at the ice cream parlor I work at.

"Wassup chica?" She asked making me laugh a little.

"Nothing I just need a favor please."

"OK wassup?" I hoped she said yea.

"Can I please get a ride." For some reason I was nervous as hell. I'm not used to asking people for stuff.

"Of course. Where you at?" I looked around for the street signs then told her where I was. We ended our call.

"Thanks." I said hopping in her car. She nodded pulling off.

"So what you doing on this side of town?" She asked making a right.

"Its a long story." She smacked her lips.

"We got time," I laughed for no reason.

"Well it started when....." After I got her all caught up she looked speechless. What would she say?

"So your homeless now?" I nodded silently.

"You can come stay with me." I shook my head. There's nothing wrong with her house or anything its just that she has twin babies plus her on and off boyfriend is abusive ass hell.

"I'm fine. I'll figure something out." I reassured her but by the look on her face I could see she wasn't taking no for an answer.

"Your living with me and that's final." I sighed letting her think that.

"Can you guys lock up today I have a doctors appointment." My manager Carol said picking up her phone and keys.

"Of course." I said wiping the last table. Today was unusually busy. We always had a lot of customers but today it was packed. No complaints tho, I get paid more.

"Missy you ready?" She nodded as she finished wiping the counters off.

I made sure I locked everything up before following her out to her car.

"Mama!" He two year old ran into her arms as soon as she opened the door. She smiled picking him up planting kisses all over his face. I smiled at how good she was with her kids.

"Hey baby mommy missed you!" She exclaims kissing him one more time. She put him down going over to her daughter who was in her baby swing.

"Missy!" Her "boyfriend" Brian yelled walking through the front door.

"What?" She sighed looking at him.

"Where the fuck you been I told you I had shit today but you left anyways leaving me in the house with the kids!" He was all in her face yelling and shit. I couldn't help but think of Chris, they act just alike.

"I had work all you had to do was to get high." I felt so awkward so I cleared my throat making my presence known again.

"Who the hell is this?" He mugged me.

"My friend, I'm home now so leave!" He smirked and I knew the only reason she wasn't getting hurt was because I was here. At least he doesn't call her out her name and point guns at her.

"Ight you getting ahead of yo self cause ya friend here." He said smirking. Next thing I knew he had a strong grip around her neck and she was trying her hardest to break free as the kids cried.

"Let her go!" I tried to help but I'm ten times smaller than this nigga. He pushed me back still keeping one hand on her neck.

"Please leave her alone. Please!" You could how desperate she was by the look on her face. I knew he was bout to kill her so I had to do something fast. But what?
