Complications

The group of tight knit friends stood around me as if in a circle. My plan for Zeref was slowly coming to a climax. The only problem was that Touka didn't agree with going along with the idea. Everyone waited in silence for a response from me. That was when a new idea popped into my head but it didn't relate to my original plan.

A brief explanation. Original plan: master my memory power. Idea: somehow separate Kaneki and Sasaki's identities. Obviously this wasn't going to work with the original plan.

"The only reason I don't agree with the plan is a good reason. For all we know, Kaneki's life now may be better than the one he lived when we knew him." Touka explained her reasoning. Everyone seemed to be persuaded with Touka. Everyone except for me.

"Well have fun living life with the emptiness that no one can fill except for Kaneki." I huffed as I walked away. What is wrong with them? Don't they want their friend back? I walked along the stone path towards the sunset. The brilliant orange outline of the bright yellow ball brought out the colors of the city. More like blinded me. I raised my arm up and shielded my eyes from the blinding light that settled onto the horizon. The city was empty except for the circle of long distant friends behind me and echo of footsteps as I walked further and further away. My first opportunity was lost. Its' okay, I still have at least three months before I have to return. That's plenty of time.

I yawned and stretched as I woke up. Crap. I must have fallen asleep on a bench. Silly me. The sun was barely reaching over the horizon and the birds were chirping away as they would usually do on a morning like this. A beautiful morning like this can't be spoiled by anyone. I was obviously wrong. The only person that could actually ruin this was me and my memories of yesterday. My famous sloppy frown appeared upon my face and wouldn't go away until about a few minutes later when I came up with a new plan.

I got up from the could bench I had slept on, stretching once more before walking toward the CCG. The CCG, also known as Commission of Counter Ghoul, is an organization designed to wipe out all ghouls in the city of Tokyo. Haise Sasaki, he works with them as a first class investigator and mentor to the "Quinx Squad." So the Quinx Squad must've been the people sitting with him earlier. Interesting. I pondered the thought of people who look so young fighting such dangerous creatures. Then again there is Hinami. The poor girl's mom died trying to protect her.

Anyways, it was pretty early in the morning but I still saw a few people here and there. Just because I was feeling like it, I waved to each and every single one of them. Most waved back while others just stared back and probably thought I was crazy. Whatever, they should wave back because I'm not always this nice when I wake up. The journey will continue no matter what.

I arrived in front of the large office building. This brings back so many memories. 'I only wish Hide were here with me,' the words that struck my heart and brought back the painful memories. I looked at the building with sorrow, what a dump it has become since I trained here with Takizawa.

Oh snap out of it. I smacked the side of my head with disappointment. I can't start thinking about that kind of stuff right now when I'm in the middle of a very important mission! On the streets behind me, cars zoomed by and stopped at a red light. As the light continued to shine, I kept gathereing the courage the walk into the building. The people in the cars grew impatient, as did I. As the light finally turned green, I was past the front doors.

I inhaled the fresh air. It was filled with the smell of eraser and freshly sharpened pencils. Then there was the scent of body odor. My nose stopped working for a few seconds. I looked around at the now empty office as I noticed only a few bustling bodies. I wonder if I'll finally be able to meet this Arima character that Amon told me about when he took over Takizawa's position as my quinque instructor. I heard a voice from across the room call out to me as I entered.

"Hey, over here!" the mysterious voice called out to me. I looked over and what do you know, it was none other than Sasaki himself. Just the person I'm looking for. I quickly ran over to Sasaki and introduced myself to him and his Quinx squad that was with him.

"The famous Quinx squad, I'm glad to finally meet you guys." I announced. A quick note: the members of the Quinx squad are Urie, Shirazu, Mutsuki, Saiko, and the squad leader Sasaki. Urie greeted me with disgust while the others greeted me with smiles and handshakes. They kept telling me to not worry about Urie's attitude or that he's always like that. I zoned out in the middle of the lecture, my mind was focused on Sasaki's thoughts

I found a shriveled Kaneki curled up in the back of his entire thought bank.

"So you managed to find me through all of these new memories?" Kaneki asked.

"Come on. You know me better than that." I replied.

Kaneki began to stand on the never ending tile floor that existed only in his thoughts. He looked torn up inside.

"Can you do me a favor." He asked.

            "What would that favor be?"

"Get rid of these complications that are trapping me in this prison of unwanted memories!" He pleaded.

"That is what I'm here for."

            "Hello?"

My head shook and I was snapped back to the real world. Sasaki was waving his hand in front of my face to check and see if I was still alive or not.

"Are you okay?" Mutsuki asked. All I did was nod. Sasaki must have "heard" the conversation I judt had with a certain one-eyed ghoul because he looked like he was ready to explode with questions. His mouth was in a partial frown and his eyes were filled with curiosity. Should I explain or not? Hmm.
