Cass was home by the time we ate dinner, so she sat with us at the table. Cass sat next to Ethan and my mother, as i sat next to them as well. Thank god, I wasn't sitting next to her. For some reason, I was happy I wasn't. Not like I had a problem with her, because I didn't but because It felt comforting sitting between my mother and Ethan.

I haven't seen Cass and maybe a week or so, so it felt nice that she was back.

"Who's your friend," Cass said to me as I made my plate in the kitchen. Ethan and my mother were sitting down in the living room waiting for us.

"Ethan," I answered, as I grabbed the Lasagna. I placed it on my plate and moved out of the way for Cass to grab some.

"He's cute," she said, and I nodded and walked back into the living room. I sat down and waited for Cass.

"Thank you for the dinner, I bet it'll be amazing." Ethan said to my mother.

"It's no problem, Ethan. I'm glad I could finally meet you." Ethan smiled at her, and looked over at me. I looked down at my plate avoiding eye contact. Fuck, I shouldn't have kissed him. WHY DID I DO THAT.

Cass sat down and we began eating. My mother asked Ethan a few questions, like what he wants to be when he's older, or where he wants to go to college. And he answered honestly. They seemed to get along. Everything was perfect until Cass decided to join in on it.

"So, Rosalie, what's been going on with you lately while I've been gone?" I took a few more sips of my orange juice before replying.

"Nothing much," I lied.

"Where's Gram? I haven't seen him in forever." Awkward silence. No one said anything, not my mom, or Ethan, they were all just waiting on me. I felt Ethan put his hand on mine from under the table for comfort, and I really needed it.

"We broke up," I said, taking another sip.

"What?! Why?" She asked. Oh great, here comes the questions.

"I guess they just weren't right for each other," my mom answered for me, and I nodded in approval.

"You guys were so cute together," Cass frowned. Thanks Cass.

"Thanks... I guess..."

"So, how are you handling it? If I found out sooner, I would have come home."

"Well, Ethan's, been a great distracter. He took me to the Amusement park today,"

"How sweet of him," my mother said. "Thank you,"

"My pleasure," he responded. "It's always fun being with Rosalie," I squeezed his hand from under the table and he squeezed back.

"Aw, aren't you guys cute," Cass said, and I raised my eyebrows.

"Oh, we aren't a thing." I said to her letting go of Ethan's hand. I felt Ethan look up over to me, but I ignored it. "We're just friends,"

"Well, you guys look like great friends." Cass replied with a wink.

"Hey, she can wink." Ethan said with a smile and I finally looked over at him, tucking hair behind my ear, and rolling my eyes, causing him to giggle.

"Whatever, but seriously Cass, I just got out of a relationship and I'm not looking for one right now. At least not for a while. I mean, yeah, Gram and I broke up but that was last night, and it doesn't mean I'm over him. It just means he's over me." I refused to look over at Ethan at that point.

I know that he doesn't like me and that I don't like him, but I do know that we shared something today. Even though I'd hate to admit it, we did have a moment, maybe a few moments. But, I can't let that get in the way of how I still for Gram. I'm in the process of healing, and Ethan sure did speed that process up but it's not totally complete.

"I see, so you still love him?" She asked. I thought about it for a moment, when we all know the answer.

"Yeah, I do." Of course I do.
