Three days dragged on and finally I was allowed out of the hospital. I haven't passed out yet, so I think I am fine. It's three months before the Halloween Dance. I don't even want to go anymore. I am only going because I told Marco I would go. It's lonely at home. Casey was more affected than me. Uncle won't stop crying. He decided we needed him, so he moved in to Mom and Dad's room. Gabe lives with us as well. Of course, Uncle won't let him sleep in my room, so he shares with Casey. I went back to school the next day when I got out of the hospital. Everyone acted sympathetic towards me and Casey. Even the kids that hated us were being nice. I didn't like it at all. When we got home that afternoon, Casey and Gabe had become best friends and were talking non-stop. I walked straight to my room and slammed the door. When Gabe and Casey walked in my room, I was gone. My window was open, so they looked out. They saw me run around the corner. Gabe calls for me, but I keep running. I don't want to accept the fact of my parents being gone. I guess I was crying to much to see where I was going because I crashed into Marco, knocking him to the ground.

"I'm sorry." I tell him, getting off of him.

"It's okay." He said laughing.

"Where, where are you going?" I ask him.

"Actually, I was going to see how you were doing. Then you crashed into me and I see by the tears in your eyes, you aren't doing so well." He said, with sadness in his voice.

"No. I am not doing fine. I am a mess, and Casey and Gabe act as if nothing has happened." I started to cry harder.

Marco puts his arms around me and holds me. He tells me everything will be fine. That all things happen for reason whether we like it or not.

I walked with Marco back to my house. I stopped crying and we walked into the house laughing. I missed laughing this hard. Especially with someone I knew so well. Marco was telling me really stupid jokes, poking me, and tickling me. When we walked in the house, Gabe didn't seem very happy. Neither did Casey. They stared really hard at me, not even blinking. I looked at Casey and smiled. I acted as if nothing was happening. I led Marco to my room, not saying a word. Marco and I laughed constantly. Finally, maybe and hour later, Casey and Gabe walked into my room. It looked really bad because his hand was really close to my boobs and I was in his lap trying to get my headphones back.

"Well, hello." Casey yelled at me.

"It's not as bad as it looks. I swear!" I said, looking at Gabe, horror in his eyes.

"Well, it looks pretty bad to me!" Gabe yelled and walked to his room.

I looked at Casey, then at Marco. I got up and walked to Casey and Gabe's room. I found Gabe screaming into a pillow.

"Gabe, it wasn't what it seemed. I was just trying to get my headphones back, and then it turned into that. It wasn't that bad." I say, laying my hand on his shoulder.

"Not that bad! Not that bad! No, it was just as bad as it looked. I'm done, Kayla. We are over. I can't do this right now." Gabe told me.

I couldn't believe what he said. Over? It took a while for his words to sink in. I walked back into my room where Casey and Marco stood. When I walked in, they both looked at me. I just sat on my bed and stared at the floor.

"What happened?" Casey asked, sitting next to me.

"He, he broke up with me." I said.

"Oh my god. I am so sorry. I didn't mean for that to happen. Gosh dang it! I'm such a stupid idiot!" Marco yelled.

"No. You're not. I had a lot of fun. It wasn't your fault. I felt, happy, for once this week. Not even Gabe could make me happy." I said slowly.

"Really? Not even I could make you happy. That proves my point I guess. You are in love with him and you lied to me about wanting to be with me. You wanted to be with him, didn't you?" Gabe said. He was in my doorway.
