"Okay, Ivan, I've decided. We're going on a picnic." The man you spoke to gave you a confused look.
"A...Picnic?" His head tilted to the side. "Why would we do that?" Normally, the two of you stayed inside and played video games (never play what he suggests...) or watch Netflix.
"Because, it's actually nice out today, and I have a surprise for you~!" You grabbed his hand and 'pulled' him up. you knew he did all the work.
'Pulling' him by the hand, you grabbed a pre-packed basket and led him out the door. Since it was a nice day, the two of you walked, hand in hand, to the place you wanted to go.
Near where you lived, there was a field of flowers. Not just any flowers, but-
"Sunflowers." Russia had a look of awe. "I've never seen so many together in one place." He walked forward, lightly touching the petals of one or two.
"Come on, big guy. I'm hungry." He reluctantly pulled away from the tall stalks and sat down beside you on the blanket you had spread out.
You chatted for a while before you told Ivan he could go. He was by the sunflowers before you could blink. You saw him disappear as he wandered deeper into the grove, the flowers much taller than him.
Laying down, you let the human heater wander around as you napped.
Next thing you knew..."[y/n]." Russia was back and shaking you awake. '[y/n], I think we should go back home." You looked past him to see the sky had turned dark. You nodded, and groggily stood up. Ivan picked up and quickly folded the blanket, tucking it into the basket.
You smiled as he grabbed your hand once again, not wanting to lose you. He tends not to make a show of it, but little things like that let you know that he loved you.
