Anime x Reader One Shots

The Internet was one for your best friends.  You didn't really have any family recipes, so looking as Allrecipes and Betty Crocker websites was your best bet.  What for?

Cookies, of course.  Gou had told you that your crush had a thing for sweets so you decided to make some.  You found one recipe that was perfect.  You looked and saw that you didn't have everything for the confectionaries.  A trip to the store was welcome. 

You quickly made a list and grabbed your wallet before leaving your home.

The walk to the market was calm, if slightly chilly.  You pulled you're hood down just to have your scarf blow off into the wind.  Nature was the bane of your existence.  You really hated it sometimes.  The scarf, which was thickly striped blue, flew into the face of someone who knew of your crush.  Haru. 

You flushed and apologized  profoundly.  "I'm so sorry!  The wind took my scarf - I guess that Mother Nature thought that your deserved it more than I did."  Haru dint say anything.  He handed your scarf back and took off.  Weird.

Setting your mind straight (or the complete opposite) you once again started the trek to the store.  Haru knew what you were up to and had immediately taken off to find and stall Nagisa with the knowledge that the sweet-toothed boy was going to visit the supermarket soon.

After getting what you needed, you hurried home, a plan forming in your head.  Luckily, your dinner usually consists if instant ramen, so you could start baking right away.  Your plan was thoughtful, if a bit elaborate, but that was what you were going for.

There was no way he was going to say no.

Setting your Pandora to a nice upbeat station, you began with preheating the oven.

You were almost found out by Rei.  He came by to ask for his notes back.  When you opened the door, you had frosting on your cheek, you hair pinned back, but still with powdered sugar in it somehow.

"Oh!  Hey!"  You made sure he couldn't see the kitchen from the door.  His vision had noting to do with his sense of smell though. 

"What are you doing, [y/n]?"  You didn't want him to find out for some reason. 

"Um...baking.  It's my mom's birthday."  Rei paused, giving you a look.

"Whatever.  Would you be kind enough to return me notes?  We have a test in a few days and I'd like to study."  You nodded.

"Oh, yeah.  One second, I'll be right back."  You literally ran to your school bag and back, the organized book safely returned to its owner.  "Here you go!  Thanks again for letting me borrow it."  Rei nodded and took his leave. 

You knew that he had always been suspicious of your crush on the blond breaststroke swimmer, but he never had any proof.  You hoped that he hadn't caught on, but knowing him, if he hadn't already he was going to soon. 

Returning to kitchen, you saw the mess that you had made.  Now to clean it up while the cookies were cooling down.  The mess was anything but small and I wasn't going to clean itself.

When everything was clean, you frosted the small heart-shaped cookies and decorated a box to put them in.  The message on the lid read 'lick the frosting off for a fun puzzle <3 - [y/n]'.  You put the cookies away and were satisfied with your job.

The next day, you were up on the roof waiting for Nagisa, having left a note for him to meet you after decoding the message.  You stood, the win in your face and the sun on your shoulders.  Your eyes were closed, a small smile lacing your lips.

"Hey, [y/n], what on earth does 'out with will you go me' mean?"  You knit your eyebrows and turned, opening your eyes.

"What?" He was holding a piece of paper, frosting and crumbs stuck to his face.

"The cookie message?  It doesn't make any sense, whatsoever."  You rolled your eyes after seeing what the paper said.

"It's supposed to be 'will you go out with me?'"

"No. Will you go out with me?"  You were still confused and you addressed the blond as such.  "Well," he explained, "the boy is supposed to as out the girl, because that means the he has to protect her!"  You have him a look. "Not that you need rescuing or anything!"  Your cheeks were a rosy color.

"Yes.  I'd like that."  You were looking away, but his tone pulled your eyes to him. 

His smile melted you. "So would I!"
