Genos ((One Punch Man))

College!AU

You let out a groan as you saw the door close. You had been running, but to no avail. You came grinding to a halt and looked around. Another student was facing the same fate as you. He was blond with golden eyes. He was wearing jeans with a button-up shirt and loafers. His bag was slung over his shoulder and he was running a ham through his hair.

Absentmindedly yuu began to talk aloud. "Saitama is a good professor, but I hate that he closes the door right as class starts." The mousy-haired teacher locked the door too for five minutes into class.

This was to ensure that you wouldn't want to feel the shame of walking into class late. On top of that, there were a couple of seats at the front of the lecture hall. Yeah, you had to sit up there when you were late.

The blond boy looked at you. "You were tardy yesterday too. And three times last week." You nodded.

"Yeah. Ironically enough, it's from my waking up late after staying up to read and do the homework from this class." The boy nodded in understanding.

"I just finished a job interview." He gestured downwards. "I don't have any formal pants, and I don't think that I'll be working there any time soon. Maybe I'll work at a cafe or something." You thrust out your right hand.

"My name's [y/n]." He looked to you. He opened his mouth just as the door to the classroom opened.

"Glad to see that you could finally join us, [y/n]." Saitama smirked in your direction and the blond beside you bowed.

"I'm very sorry for being late, sir. It won't happen again, I swear!" That was a bad promise to make, especially in college. The boy was obviously infatuated by his teacher. Saitama moved from the door so to let you pass. The blond was almost overjoyed from being close to his professor, siting up front meaning that the man was pacing around feet from him.

You rolled your eyes and continued to take notes on a continuation of yesterday's lesson until a piece of paper landed in your lap. Looking around, you didn't see anyone but the blond boy and a friend near you. The golden eyed boy seemed completely engrossed in Saitama's lecture. You unfolded the paper, and one look told you it was from a guy. The handwriting was atrocious (not to say that yours was any better).

You quickly scanned the paper and the blue ink spelled out a meeting place. It was an invitation to a small coffee shop just off campus. You wondered who was asking you to meet them. It was asking you to meet them. It was likely the blond, but the friend of yours, Sonic was a fan of coffee. It might have been him, but odds were he would have texted you instead. You wrote 'sure' in the back and left the paper at your seat when you left.

It was nice out, if a bit warm, and the flowers that bloomed were of every color you could think of. You put in your earbuds and walked along, enjoying the outside while blaring your favorite song, which may or may not have for the mood. You paused the song when you arrived at your destination.

It smelt of fresh baked goods inside, so when you ordered a drink, you also got a cookie. You sat near the back of the shop, having not recognized anyone. You were unsure over whether or not you should start your homework when a cute blond with unmistakable golden eyes entered the establishment with familiarity. He waved to the barista before making his way around the various people in the shop. He stopped at the table you were half-occupying. He gestured to the seat opposing you.

"May I?" You nodded, hidden behind your cup. He really was rather attractive. He held out his right hand. "I don't believe I received the chance to introduce myself. My name is Genos." You shook, smiling.

"And you know my name." He tilted his head, hand on chin.

"I don't believe I do? Wasn't it something like 'beautiful'?" A soft pink dusted your cheeks, and he smiled. "I couldn't help it, sorry [y/n]." A girl with wearing an apron stopped by the table. She had green hair. She handed Genos a cup and he looked at her. "You didn't spit in it, did you?" She scoffed and walked away. Genos smiled and you were blown away. He was absolutely adorable.

"A friend?" He nodded.

"Hey, want help with the homework?" You blinked. He remembered your reason for being late for class?

"Yeah, I'd like that." The both of you pulled out your books and laughed and studied late into the afternoon. This went on for months and you soon found that you were often looking forward to meeting Genos.
