I'm Home

Shane's pov

I was on my way home after being gone for over two weeks. I had a big business meeting and i had to leave my baby boy joey. He was around three and a half i hate seeing him grow up. Every day reminds me he won't be this small forever and that breaks my heart.

I was driving to my mother's house since she took care of him for those two weeks. Also while i was away i met a girl and we hit it off pretty well. Her name is Jenn (no not JennXPen) she is so nice and sweet. She's going to be moving in while i pick up joey.

I pulled into mom's driveway almost running inside just being so overly excited. I saw mom and she smiled as she hugged me.

Mom: How was your trip?

Shane: It was fine and i met someone there i hope joey likes her.

Mom: Let's pray he does joey still dosen't trust girls too much since the whole lisa incident.

Shane: Oh i'm aware but maybe he's doing better where is he?

Mom: He's taking a nap go wake him up.

I smiled and dashed to his room quietly opening the door. My heart warmed when i saw my baby boy. His cheeks were bright pink, his hair was a mess, and his little body barely took up any space on the bed. Joey was a surprisingly tiny child and i just thought it was even more adorable. I sat on his bed and lightly shook him.

Joey's pov

I was having a fun day until grandma put me down for my nap time. I've missed my daddy so much he's been gone for a really long time. I've missed him so much he hasn't put me to bed in like twenty days. It's been too long since daddy gave me a bath. I miss him.

I was having a dream about puppies when i felt someone shake me.

???: Wake up baby boy daddy's here to get you.

I sat up and rubbed my eyes to see daddy smiling at me.

Shane's pov

I saw his eyes light up and he jumped onto me wrapping his little arms around my neck.

Joey: D-daddy you're b-back for me.

Shane: Of course i am baby boy oh i'm so happy to see you.

Joey: Me t-too daddy.

He giggled and i picked him up carrying him to the living room.

Joey: Bye grandma t-tank you for taking care o-of me.

Mom: Bye sweetheart see you soon.

She kissed his forehead and i grabbed his things walking to the car. As we were driving home he was just rambling on about everything he did with my mom. His talking is getting better but he still stutters and misses letters. He's just so adorable i don't get how anyone ever hurt him. We pulled into the driveway and he squealed when the car stopped.

Shane: Now joey daddy met someone special on his trip and she's going to be staying with us.

Joey: Is s-she more spwecial than joey?

He pointed to himself and i smiled shaking my head at his cuteness.

Shane: No joey you are always the most special to me.

He smiled and i unstrapped him grabbing his bag as we walked inside. I set him down and jenn hugged me and i pecked her lips. Joey was hiding behind my leg.

Shane: Say hi joey.

Joey: N-no

Shane: Well that's not very nice come on joey.

Jenn: Hi joey i'm jenn.

She walked towards him to hug him but he started crying.

Joey: N-NO don't let her hurt m-me daddy DON'T L-LET HER HURT ME.

He ran/ waddled to his room and i gasped at the things he said. He is so terrified of women it breaks my heart to see him scared.

Shane: Um jenn just give him time he's had some traumatic experiences.

Jenn: No no i understand don't worry just go comfort him.

I jogged to his room and slowly creaked his door open. I saw a figure covered with a blanket under his bed and he was just shaking to death. I got on my knees and slowly pulled him out into my arms. I removed the blanket and he just quivered as tears fell.

Joey: D-daddy i-i don't want her to *hiccup* h-hurt me.

Shane: Listen baby i promised you i would never let anyone hurt you have i kept that promise?

Joey: Mhm.

He wiped his nose as more tears streamed down.

Shane: Exactly now i know you're scared but you have to try to talk to jenn she would never hurt you.

Joey: O-ok but w-will you please keep h-holding me?

Shane: Of course joey wait do you hear that?

We both looked around and he looked confused.

Joey: W-what is it daddy?

Shane: I hear a tickle monster.

I lightly tossed him onto his bed and i furiously tickled his sides. He was giggling and laughing making me laugh along.

Joey: Ahh daddy st-stop it STOP IT.

I smiled and let up as his laughs died down.

Joey: I wanna fly d-daddy.

I picked him up and we raced through the hallways and almost every room in the house. I finally got tired and collapsed in the living room laying on my back as joey sat on my stomach giggling.

He placed his hands over my face laughing as i smiled.

Joey: You're funny daddy.

He got off my stomach and crawled to my head laying next to me. I turned over to face him and he smiled showing his adorable white smile.

Joey: I wuv you daddy

Shane: I love you too baby boy.

He kissed my forehead and giggled running off. I was too tired to chase him and i noticed jenn running after him. He squealed and giggled as they both ran back in. I knew he would like her.

Now i know it might take a while but i think i'll be able to let my family expand soon. I'm so happy that i'm home.
