"Hey baby," My mom opened her door with a big smile on her face.

"Hi mama." I hugged her.

After my dad died, I became way closer to my mom. I told her everything because I could trust her. I mean.. I was named after her, plus we were basically sisters.

"Sup Jada." Trey walked out of the kitchen.

I smiled and hugged my half brother. He grabbed the keys from the small table and headed out.

"Where's the younger ones?" I asked, referring to Jaden and Willow.

"Jaden is with his dad and Willow's at a friend's."

We sat down in the room and talked about the movie, how I was doing, and my dad of course.

I'd only bring him up in conversations when I really missed him or needed a father in my life. Now was one of those times.

"I wish he was here, mom." I whispered.

"I know baby. I do too." She rubbed my back, trying to comfort me.

I rested my head on her shoulder and cried softly.

"Baby, you got to be strong. People goin through harder things than you are, remember that. Life goes on."

I laughed and wiped a tear as she held me.

"You'll be alright." She assured me.

"I just.. I look around and everyone is now starting to realize how much their parents matter to them. So they go flaunting both their parents off. You know how much I wish he was here?" I sobbed, hugging my mom tightly.

I haven't cried real tears for my father in a long time. And every time I do, it's worse than the last time because I've held it in for so long.

"Listen to me, baby. You Remember what your father used to stay, don't you?" She asked me.

I nodded and breathed in unevenly, "Real thugs live forever.."

It felt so ridiculous saying that out loud, but it sure did calm me down when I did.

"Your dad was the realest thug known to man. So surely, he's living. He's living up in Thugz Mansion with the rest of them.." She spoke against my hair.

I smiled and closed my eyes, imagining my father and the rest of the G's that we lost, living somewhere above us making sure we were okay.

"I'm sorry mama. I always do this." I look up at her.

"Don't apologize for that. You can remember your father whenever you please, it's not a sin." She kissed my cheek.

"Thanks, mama. I love you."

"Love you more."
