Kiss and Tell

It breaks Gwen's heart na wala ng reason para makita pa nya si Cholo. After all, they've been friends pero hindi na ito nakikipagkita or nakikipagcommunicate sa kanya. Mas madalas pa nga nya makita ang mga kapatid nito. She was even silently praying na minsan pag nakita nya ang mga kapatid nito, kasama sya. Hoping, their paths would cross again.

She was in a coffee shop waiting for Albert that morning nang makita nya si Cholo. She couldn't stop herself from staring while he patiently waits for his turn to order sa counter. Madalas siguro ang binata sa shop na ito when she noticed the way the cashier smiles at him.

Sa sobrang absorbed nya sa idea na yun, hindi nya napansin na nasa harap na pala nya si Cholo.

"Penny for your thoughts, Miss" he snapped her out of her daydream.

"H-hey." ang nasabi nya lang.

"Sino tinitignan mo dun sa may counter?"

"W-wala."

"Why are you spacing out? Any problem?"

Maya mayay naupo na si Cholo sa katapat nyang upuan. "I hope you dont mind that I joined you. Kamusta ka na?"

As if he's really interested about her whereabouts?

"I'm doing okay. Ikaw? Ngayon lang ulit kita nakita ah."

Eto, naguguluhan pa rin he told himself.

"E si Albert?"

"He's on his way."

"Pinaghihintay ka nya? Sira talaga yun."

"No worries. Mamya pa kasi talaga ang usapan namin."

"Good. Masosolo pa pala kita." he smiled.

"Wala kang gagawin?"

Umiling si Cholo and took a sip from his cup.

"Gusto mo na kong umalis?"

Sunod sunod ang iling ni Gwen. Nagulat si Gwen when he shifted next to her seat and hugged her.

Thats when she felt her heartbeats doubled its speed once more. Ang higpit ng yakap ni Cholo sa kanya and she responded with a tight hug as well.

"Namissed mo ko?"

"Yeah." Malungkot ang mukha nito nang kumalas sa pagkakayakap nya.

"S-si Albert, mahal mo na ba?" he querried looking away.

Hindi nakapagsalita si Gwen. Naguguluhan sya sa mga kinikilos ni Cholo. Next thing she knew, Cholo leaned forward to claimed her lips. She closed her eyes and ignored the people around them. She responded to his kiss.

Huminto si Cholo nang marinig ang ring ng telepono ni Gwen. She picked up the call but she was still observing Cholo's expression.

"Abet? You can't make it?"

"I understand."

"Sige."

The call ended.

Gwen stared at his eyes looking for answers for what he did. Samantalang umiiwas naman si Cholo. Hindi nya alam paano ipapaliwanag kay Gwen.

"Gwen, I'm sorry..." he regreted saying sorry na tila pagkakamali ang ginawa nya kahit sinadya nya yun dahil hindi na nya napigilan ang damdamin.

Nakuha na ni Gwen na nadala lang siguro si Cholo ng matagal nilang hindi pagkikita. Namula ng husto ang mukha niya sa pagkapahiya. Umasa na naman siya na kahit konti ay may nararamdaman si Cholo para sa kanya.

"G-gwen..."

"Stop."

Ayaw nyang magpaliwanag pa si Cholo. Alam nyang hindi nya magugustuhan ang sasabihin nito. She walked away. She wanted to run away as fast as she could. Gustuhin man nyang magpaliwanag si Cholo baka hindi nya kayanin pag sinabi nitong natutuwa lang ito sa mga reaksyon niya tulad noon.

Bakit ngayon Cholo? Bakit?

Once she has gone far from the shop, she burst into tears.
