19: Unknown Number

Last night was rough I barely got any sleep due to Sean acting funny. My thoughts were interrupted by my phone ringing. I answered without looking at the caller I.D.

Eve: Hello?

?: Hello is this Evelyn?

Eve: Yes, who is this?

I looked at my caller I.D. and saw it was a number from Memphis, TN where Sean family are.

?: You don't need to know who I am just know you need to watch your boyfriend and you might want to take your number off of Facebook too.

*Line Disconnects*

I sat there looking at my phone worried and confused. I went onto Facebook and took off my number and called Sean.

Sean: Hello

Eve: Hey, are you busy?

Sean: No I'm watching T.V. What's up?

He was talking to me like we weren't even together this isn't how he talks.

Eve: What did you do last night?

Sean: Um... Just hung out with my family, why?

Eve: Someone called me from an unknown number from there.

Sean: Really? What did they say?

Eve: That I needed to watch you and I should take my number off of Facebook.

Sean: What's the number?

I read off the number to him. The line went silent for a while.

Eve: Hello?

Sean: Eve I gotta go call you back.

*Line Disconnects*

There was a knock at my door.

"Come in." I said putting my phone down.

"Hey, can you take me to Mark's house?" Savannah asked standing at my door.

"Yeah give me 20 minutes I'll be ready." I said getting up to take a shower.

Today's wear would be black V-neck with a crème cardigan and skinny jeans with black combat boots.

I got my scarf, hat, and gloves before grabbing my car keys and telling Savannah to come on.

"So what's going on between you and Sean?" She asked as I backed out of the driveway.

"I don't know. Things have been shady. I got an unknown number telling me to lookout. And he's been acting funny we barely talk." I said sighing.

"You think he's cheating?" She asking texting away on her phone.

"I got a sense but I hope not cause I really like him Sav." I said getting teary eyed.

"It's to be okay Eve. It'll be his loss." She said rubbing my shoulder trying to comfort me.

We arrived at Mark's house and I waited till she went inside before off. Since I had time and time on my hands I decided to go to Starbucks for a while.

I ordered a Hot Chocolate and took a seat by the window scrolling through Instagram. I heard the bell ding but I didn't look up.

"Yes can I get two large Hot Cocoa's and a blue berry muffin please?" I heard a very familiar voice say.

I didn't look up because I didn't want to draw any attention to myself and my eyes are probably red from crying.

"Eve? Hey, what are you doing here?" He asked walking over to me.

"Getting Hot Chocolate what else?" I snapped at him.

"Were you crying?" He asked leaning down to get a good look at my face.

"No I just got something in my eyes." I said looking down.

"Yeah and that's a lie I heard plenty of times. So, why are you really crying? Did you finally see what I was talking about Sean? His true colors?" He said getting under my skin.

"This has nothing to do with you, so stay out of it okay?" I said sternly.

"Ahhhh, so it is? Well if you need me you know where to find me." He said getting his order and leaving.
