Ugh. I groaned as I brought myself to a sitting position. I opened my eyes and realized that I was in a steril white room. Everything was so blindingly white that I literally had to squint to find the door. Making my way over to it, I grabbed the door handle. It was locked, not that I had expected anything else. It would have been really stupid to leave the door unlocked. I looked around the room and saw a bed, a toilet, and a sink. I smiled and walked over to the sink. I turned on the faucet and washed my face as the cool water flowed through my hands. I pointed the nozzle at the door and sent a jet of water at the door handle. I can't believe that after what they saw me do with water they still left me alone with it. The water cut throught the handle and the door swung open. I grabbed Riptide out of my pocket and ran out of the room into the hallway.

I rushed through the corridor and turned a corner, only to trip over a woman in a white labcoat. I sprinted further down the hallway and ran into a man fighting the girl from earlier. She nailed him in the jaw and sent him flying backwards. He hit the wall with a dull thud as she turned to me. Her lip was bleeding and she had a bruise slowly forming on her arm, but besides that she looked fine. She walked up to me.

"That truce thing still working for you buddy? 'Cause I need some help over here." In response, I nodded. She smiled and turned towards a door. She hesitated a moment and looked over her sholder at me. "Oh, by the way, I'm Max."

"Percy." I smiled at her and she smiled back, but then her face went cold. I turned and saw a man with a gun pointed at me. I slowly put my hands up. I didn't know what else to do. The man shot a bullet and I ducked and threw Riptide at him. It passed through his chest as he stumbled in supprise. Di Imortales, this guy was mortal. Before he could regain his ballance, I lunged at his feet and knocked him over. Max delivered a sharp strike to his nose and he was out cold. We ran towards a big wooden door and burst through it to find six people standing there waiting for us.

"Percy Jackson. Maximum Ride. We need to talk."

Kat's After-Editing Note

Aww, NAT! Why the cliffhanger? I mean, are you trying to kill me? I bet you are!
