Do you think they bought it?

It has been six months since our little encounter with the Avengers, and Percy and I are wrecks. Sure, we're doing just fine; we moved into his mom's old apartment and I got a job at a Shwarma restaurant, but that's what other people see. Its what's on the inside that is toiling. We have been searching for our friends every spare moment we can, and we've basically torn ourselves apart with guilt. The voice Percy heard in his head that one time has not made a reapearance, and neither has mine. To put it shortly, our lives are in complete and utter chaos.

"Percy! I'm going to work! I'll be back soon!" I heard a faint reply coming from his bedroom that might have been an okay, or maybe just a groan; I'm not really sure. I put my frilly apron on over my gold and red dress and looked in the mirror one last time. I had actually put up my dirty blonde hair today and had tied it in a loose wave. I had on a little white lacy crown, held in place with a bobby pin. I grabbed my coat and was just about to leave when Percy came skidding around the corner.

"Wait! Do you have any Drachmas?" he asked.

In reply. I shook my head. "No, why?"

"I don't know. I just have a weird feeling something's going to happen. Just take some. Please?"

I sighed and picked up some off the table.

"You remember how to Iris message?"

I nodded again and gave him a quick smile.

"I'll be back after work, okay? Bye!" With that I slammed the door and mall-walked to the elevator. I pushed the lobby button and the door closed behind me. I checked my pocket to see if I had my house key, but I didn't.

As soon as I got outside, I hailed a taxi and rode off to Sally's Shwarmas. As soon as I got there, I checked in and looked at my scedule. I had a lunch break at noon, two hours from now. I grabbed an order book and took over for the last shift. This was going to be a long day.

~~~~~TIME SKIP~~~~~~ 12:00
I checked out and walked outside only to find the police blocking off the road. I walked swiftly up to one and asked what was going on.
"There's been an attack. It must be big because the Avengers are here. We keep seing robots coming out of that black hole." I looked up and gasped. This looked exactly like the one that took the Flock and Percy's friends.
"Thank you officer." I sprinted over to the car wash on Fifth Avenue and IMed Percy.
Percy! You need to get down here now! The hole is back and its spitting out freaking robots! Get your skinny little butt down here!
I waved away the message and picked up a stray knife. Sorry Sally, I thought as I cut two slits in the back of my uniform. I turned around to see Captain America staring at me from on top of a car. We made eye contact and he nodded. I gave him a crooked grin and he took off. I spread my wings and joined the fight.
