"Hey, Percy?" I watched as his determined look changed into one of surprise as he noticed me. He seemed so caught up in his little world that he completely forgot his present company.
"Yes, Max?" It took me a moment to realize he had spoken. His chiseled lips formed words so beautifully, and his soft, black hair fell handsomely in his face. Wait, what? I don't talk like that about anyone! Well, except- NO, just forget I said any of that!
"Do you really think it will work?" His hard gaze softened and he stopped.
"I'm not sure. You're not a demigod, but you're not completly mortal, so you might be able to get onto Olympus. But as to how the gods will react, well... Just be prepared for anything." I tensed as we stopped in front of the Empire State Building.

The elevator ride was long and quite tedious. We had left the Avengers in the lobby, but somthing told me that they'd try to get up here. Percy had a stern look on his face, like he was sure somthing would go wrong. I tapped my foot nervously and thought about Fang. I missed him so much. There where five bird-kid sized holes in my chest ripping through my body as I stumbled backwards. My sight went blurry, and the next thing I knew, Percy was on top of me as the elevator started to collapse on itself.
"Max! You need to get out!" I heared the faint ding of the elevator as we reached the top floor and a chunk of metal fell on Percy, knocking him out. I gasped, grabbed him around the waist, planted my feet on the wall, and shot out of the elevator as it was finally obliterated.
From the outside of the elevator, the place didn't look much better. I looked down a long pathway that led to an extremely large building and heard loud voices booming and echoing around. I felt Percy stir beneath me and realized I was still on top of him. I rolled off of him, slightly flushed, and he groaned and sat up. He must have just heard the yelling because he stood up, grabbed my hand, and sped us off towards the noise.
