"Get your skinny little butt down here now!"

I threw on my Camp Half-Blood beads and grabbed my sword. Sadly enough, I couldn't use Riptide. I had to go back to camp and grab one that would work on mortals, just to be safe. Its like Luke's, half steel and half Calestal Bronze. I put on the watch that Tyson made me before the ...war. I sprinted out the door and down the stairs. Outside the building was total chaos. There were cops and these weird robot-things everywhere. I looked up to see a giant fish-like robot slamming into the apartment building. I ducked under a car and put my fingers in my mouth. emitting a high-pitched whistle. There was a thump outside the car, and I heard a familiar voice inside my head.

Hey, Boss. Haven't heard from you in a while. Wassup?

Um, New York is kind of under attack, in case you haven't noticed. Can you help?

Yeah, sure thing, Boss. Blackjack's got your back.

Thanks. I owe you some donuts.

I jumped out from under the car and onto Blackjack. As he took off, I remembered I had one other friend who could help us. I let out a wolf whistle and bounding around the corner came Mrs. O'Leary, the hellhound.

"Mrs. O'Leary! Do me a favor and attack those robots!" She then turned around and ran off... Hopefully not to find a place to nap.

Bkackjack took off into the air and we soared around the city, asessing the damage. It was bad. Really bad. Almost as bad as the Titan War. I soon found what I was looking for: a statue of Thomas Jefferson.

Blackjack landed and I jumped off and ran over to the statue. I took out a piece of paper and spoke the command sequence, hoping again as the statue ran off that he would activate the rest of the statues and not, you know, get some coffee or something.

Suddenly a dark shadow swooped over me and I felt something - or someone -  land behind me.

"Hello, Max," I said, not turning around.

"Oh, Percy. I know you wish it was Max." The voice sent a chill down my spine, a faint British accent triggering a painful memory. I felt the breath of my adversary on my neck. I looked up and saw what looked like two glittering rams' horns. I could feel the edge of a knife being pressed to my back. I smiled slightly as I sprinted forward, using the statue base as a springboard. I flipped over and smacked my heel into the guy's face. He stumbled and grabbed his cheek. As he looked up at me, I saw one dark green eye staring back at me. He took his hand off of his eye and was just about to attack when a giant green monster in purple shorts sprinted by, grabbed him, and flung him across Fifth Avenue.

In the couple of moments it took me to gather myself, the real Max landed by my side. She looked at me expectantly, like she wanted me to explain all this.

"What?"

"The black hole! Dosn't it strike you as farmiliar?" I looked up and gaped at the giant black hole with wide eyes. The robots that where ransacking the city seemed to just keep coming out of the hole. There was a streak of red and gold with what looked like a nuke flying into the hole. The thing exploded, and all the robots around us fell to the ground. There was a green beam of light and the hole started to close. As the hole was about to close , the red and gold thing fell out. Max took off.

"Hey, where are you going?"

"Hes not stopping," she shrieked."I need to get to him!" I sighed and gathered up the water around me and I took off to where I saw Max and the man falling. When I got there, I saw the man sitting up and staring at her. She turned and looked back at him with a supprised look on her face. Than I recognized him. He was the man who had shot Max out of the sky that night. He turned his head and looked at me.

"What are the kids doing here?"

"We where trying not to die, thank you very much!" Max retorted.

I sighed. "I guess we all owe each other explanations."

"Yeah, I guess so." I turned to see a red-headed woman in a tight black body suit staring intently at me.

"Well, I guess, I'll go first. But before I do, Max and I need to go see someone." I looked at her pointedly.

"Who?" Suddenly her face went bright and I knew she'd had a lightbulb moment. "Oh."

"Yeah. Oh, you can all come too, but you'll have to wait in the lobby." Max and I took off and I heard a voice behind us.

"Wait, what lobby?"  I smiled and started towards the Empire State Building.
