"Natasha, I want you to follow them. Stay out of sight, but find out what they're up to."
This was going to be a piece of cake. These kids where obviously powerful and definitely not human, but nothing I can't handle. I saw Max and Percy land down the street from the Empire State Building and enter a little cafe. My curiosity got the better of me and I followed them inside. They sat down at a corner booth. I brushed by and put a small microphone transmitter on the seat. Strodomg across the room, I sat at a two person table and ordered a coffee. I took out my Bluetooth and tuned it to the microphone's channel.
"So Percy, whats the deal with the water?"
"Well, you see, I came from this place called Asgard. I was the son of a frost giant and a midgaurdian. My mother, the Midgardian, didn't want me to be raised on Asgard, so she took me to Midgard, or earth. When I was eight, she passed away. I was left on my own, no family or friends, so I did the only thing I could think of doing. I went back to Asgard." I arched my eyebrows. This was very interesting. I got out my laotop and gave Fury a live feed.
"It was while I was in Asgard that I discovered my powers. Most frost giants can control the ice, but I, being raised on Midgaurd, could only control water. I mastered the art and returned to Earth. There I joined a gang and lived on the streets. My father wanted to treat me like a king, but I wanted nothing of the sort. I wanted a family, and that's what I got. What about you? Whats your story?"
"Long version or short version?"
"Short."
"When my mother was young, she was exposed to a lot of radiation. She had this vision that she was supossed to 'exceed the progression of the human race'. So, when she had me, I was kind of her test subject. When I was one we moved into the desert so she could continue her work in privacy. She put me through a lot of tests and gave me lots of shots. One day, when I was about six, there was a sharp pain in my back. That was the start of the wings. My mother eventually went crazy and ran off into the desert, but I was resourceful. I found my way to New York and found a family that appreciated me. And that was that."
Wow. these kids had been through a lot. But that didn't change what they did to Stark Tower, no matter how funny it was. I got up and left, satisfied with my findings. As I was walking down the street, I heard Nick's voice throught the bluetooth.
"Agent Romonoff, did you happen to hear the end of that conversation?"
"No, why? I recorded it all."
"Look at the very end of the recording."
I rewinded the recording until almost the end and listened. I heard Max's voice in the microphone.
"Do you think they bought it?"
