"i love you"

connor's pov.

We were both sat on the couch, almost on top of each other, scrolling through movies on Netflix. After enough convincing from me, Troye gave into watching 'The Human Centipede.' I loved scary movies, but apparently he did not.

During the movie he inched closer to me and by the end was hiding his head in my chest. My brain was going insane, and butterflies stormed in my stomach. Yes, we had kissed before but I don't think he actually has a crush on me.

It had gotten late, and we had already eaten dinner so we both decided to go to bed. I'm sure Troye was jet lagged anyways.

I unwrapped my arm from his front, and he got a clue. He picked up his head, and positioned his feet back on the floor.

"Goodnight, Troye."

I got up and started walking towards my room.

"Night, Con."

[timeskip]

I heard muffled whimpers coming from Troye's room. Oh shit.

I removed the sheets off me, ignoring the fact I was still in my boxers. I speed-walked over to his room. He was sat there, holding the covers up to his nose. His frail body was shaking violently, and sweat dripped down his forehead.

I gently placed my hand on top of his, still grasping the sheets for dear life. He relaxed a bit by my touch, but was still shaking.

"Troye, it was just a dream. You are safe here with me. Do you want to talk about it?"

He lowered the sheets a bit, he revealing his entire face. I climbed next to Troye, giving him an option to lean into. In which he did.

"It was so real though. He knew where I was. Who you were. I was just getting punch after punch, until you stepped in. He threw me off to the side, and continued but this time punching you. That's when I woke up. Connor, I can't let you get hurt, I just can't."

He started to scream towards the end.

"Hey, no one is getting hurt here. You are safe, I promise. I love you, your my best friend."

I found the lies.

"Thanks, I love you too Con."

Ehhh.

"Goodnight Troye."

But he had already fallen asleep.
