Bucky spent the whole day as he had the past few days after he'd met Lily - trying not to think too much about her and trying to focus on his work.

"Jesus Buck, I've never seen you like this before! You must be in love," commented Steve with a grin as they were training. Bucky sighed as they took a short break. He couldn't lie to his best friend, even if he wanted to. He smiled.

"Yeah...I can't explain it," he started before his smile disappeared, "it's not gonna last though..."

"What do you mean?" asked Steve with a concerned look.

"We're leaving for a mission soon and she leaves town once her case is over and done with. Both of us can't get out of what we do," he explained. Steve remained silent for a while.

"Well, that sucks!" he replied after a while. Bucky scoffed in agreement.

Five o'clock couldn't come soon enough for Bucky that day. When it finally did, he rushed to take a shower and leave for the bar. He couldn't wait to see her. How he was gonna survive without her was a mystery to him but he didn't care at that moment. All he cared about was spending time with her. Nothing else mattered.

He walked into the bar and he scanned the area. His heart sank when he didn't see her there. He looked at his watch and saw that it was nearing six o'clock. He mentally scolded himself. Maybe she'd been held up and would be there later. He hoped she wouldn't take long to arrive. He decided to get himself a drink and joined his friends.

"Well, look who it is! Our old friend Sergeant Barnes! Where have you been?" teased one of his friends. He laughed with them but said nothing. Fortunately for him, he didn't have to wait long. He glanced to the side where the staircase that led to the rooms was and saw her coming down. She looked around the area before her eyes fell on him and she gave him a small smile.

"Excuse me boys," he said, never taking his eyes off her, before he started walking towards her. She continued to come down the stairs, also never taking her eyes off him. She looked so beautiful. She'd worn a dress this time; a dark blue silk one that hugged her every curve. It made her look even more ethereal than ever. They both reached the bottom of the stairs at the same time.

He took her hand in his and placed a gentle kiss on her knuckles before saying, "Hello beautiful."
She simply smiled and leaned down to softly kiss him.

"Hello soldier," she replied in a whisper. He led her to a table and ordered a couple of drinks for them.

"How was your day?" he asked, all the while holding her hand in his.

"Not that pleasant...We have to go watch the people again tonight. What about yours?"

"Distracting..."

"What do you mean?" she asked with a half-smile.

"I couldn't stop thinking about you," he replied with that cheeky smile of his. My heart fluttered. I squeezed his hand.

"I know what you mean," I replied. I watched as Bucky's eyes held an unspoken emotion. I could now officially feel everything he was feeling and it was overwhelming me.

"Hey Lil." I looked up to see both Sam and Dean standing next to us. I was a little taken aback as I hadn't sensed them.

"Yeah?"

"We're gonna go," said Dean. I looked at them confused and then at the clock in the bar.

"But it's not 11pm yet..." Sam cut me off.

"Yeah, Dean and I can go. You stay. It's not like anything's gonna happen tonight anyway so we don't have to all go," he said. I immediately understood what they were up to and I found it really sweet of them, especially Dean. He wasn't usually this considerate but I knew he had a good heart deep down.

"Thanks, and be careful," I replied, my eyes saying more than just thanks. They waved to us both and left.

"So you've got the night off?" asked Bucky, his eyes lit up. I smiled, no beamed in delight.

"I guess so," I replied.

Three more days had passed before we deduced that the figures would always go out at one in the morning to go to the house. There wasn't one day when they wouldn't go so we assumed that this was a daily routine. We decided to go in after they'd leave and that I would do my thing afterwards when they would be sound asleep.

The funeral had been closed-casket as expected. Dean managed to sneak a peek somehow and there was indeed, no corpse inside. Just a load of stuff to make it seem as if there was a body in it when they eventually carried it out of the church and to the cemetery. These guys really didn't miss a beat! And nobody questioned them either.

That night was the last night ever I'd get to see Bucky so I made it count.

"Come with me," I said once he'd arrived at the bar. He didn't protest and followed me to my room. Once we were behind closed doors, I pulled him into a fierce kiss to which he responded eagerly. But he pulled away when he noticed the urgency I had within.

"Woah, hey, slow down. What's wrong?" he asked. I swallowed slowly before I looked down.

"This is the last time I'm gonna see you, isn't it?" he asked bluntly. A tear ran down my cheek and I nodded before I looked back up to him.

"I will leave with the boys at midnight, bust those people and then we move on..." I explained in a whisper. He didn't say anything for a while. I'm sure he was trying to get his head around it. I felt his hand caress my cheek and I leaned into it. He brushed away the tears with his thumb and sighed heavily.

"We knew this wasn't going to last but it's still difficult. I leave tomorrow for my mission..."
My eyes widened at that statement. A few more tears escaped. I knew what would happen on this mission and it broke my heart.

"Before we go any further and before we part, I need to tell you something Lily," he started with a serious look on his face, "I've fallen for you, hard. I don't think I've ever felt the way I do with you. I'm so glad I met you and I will always cherish these few days we've spent together, until the day I die."

That last word completely threw me. I couldn't keep my sobs in so I let it go. Bucky held me in his arms and soothed me. After a few minutes though, I managed to gather myself a bit and pulled away slightly to be able to look into his eyes.

"It's the same for me, Bucky. It sucks that this can't go any further. I will never forget you. I love you too," I replied with a choked sob. Before too long, we crushed our lips and bodies together and furiously undressed each other, tumbled into bed together and made passionate love to each other.

***

"Please be careful," I whispered, holding on to him as if he were my last lifeline.

"I will. You too, okay?...Lily...these have been the best few days of my life. I love you and always will," he whispered back. I kissed him once more.

"Mine too. I love you too, with all my heart. I will never, ever forget you!"

And that was it. With one last kiss and one last glance, I left to meet the boys outside so we could go take care of the corpses.

Bucky felt heartbroken. He couldn't think properly so he decided that for that night, he would allow himself to cry. The next day would be hard enough as it is, when he and his friends would go into the mission in which he had no clue he would lose his life as he knew it.

***

"You okay there Lil?" asked Dean.

"Yeah, I'll be fine, as always..." she replied. Her voice was slightly hoarse so he knew she'd been crying. He felt sorry for her for he knew her capacity for love once she'd found it. He didn't press her any further and kept driving to the abandoned house.

They didn't have to wait long for the couple to arrive and enter the house. Two hours and a half later, precisely, they came out and drove off. Time to burn the corpses.

They all entered the house stealthily and found all the corpses gathered together in one room. It was an easy task to accomplish and they were all somewhat relieved that the nightmare was over before it started. They then drove to the couple's house and let Lily do her thing. She must have scared the couple witless for they saw the couple run out of the house, stumbling over each other, screaming into the night. This woke up a lot of neighbours.

"What the hell did you do?" asked Sam once Lily was back in the car. She was smiling broadly and smugly. It was obvious she was feeling slightly better now that she'd dealt with the sickos.

"Just haunted them a little bit. They will never do anything like this again. I can guarantee it," she explained. But that was all she told them. They would later find out, in their own time, what she'd done from the internet - a website about the weirdest hauntings in America.

As promised, once the case was done, they found themselves back in the motel room from before they went to the past. They were back in their own time, back in their own clothes and back to their own lives.

"Well, I guess thanks are in order," mumbled Lily to Gabriel.

"You are very welcome, my dear," he replied, accepting the gratitude even if it wasn't major.

"Stop calling me that...you lost that right when you abandoned me," she yelled, startling everyone. It was obvious she was pissed with the archangel. Add to that the sadness of having lost someone she cared about deeply.

"Woah...what do you mean abandoned?" asked Dean with a frown. He couldn't stay out of this any longer.

"What's going on with you two?" he added. He watched as Lily targeted a venomous gaze at Gabriel.

"Ask him!" she said forcefully before she left the room. She needed some air.

"What the hell was that all about?" demanded Dean, his gaze directed at the archangel. Gabriel sighed and lowered his head. A few long seconds passed before he spoke.

"I'm her father," he replied finally.

"Her what?!" asked Sam dumbfounded. Dean had his mouth open. He couldn't form any words let alone a rant.

"What are you deaf? I said I'm her father..."

"Wait a minute...then that means, she's a..."

"Nephilim? Yes."

Dean still hadn't managed to form a coherent word or sentence. He dropped onto the couch and just looked at Gabriel.

"But I thought that Nephilim were..."

"Myths? Nope. They're as real as you and I. Unfortunately, God didn't really allow us to stay in touch with our offspring so I had to 'abandon' her as she so bluntly put it," explained Gabriel. The word alone seemed to leave a bad taste in his mouth.

"Wow..." This word came from Dean who couldn't find anything else to say.

"Yeah...wow...also unfortunately, this put a death sentence on her head. Some of the angels think Nephilim are the worst kind of abomination and they wouldn't hesitate to kill one. However, fortunately for her, she is my daughter and they have respected my wishes that she remain unharmed. It still doesn't cancel the hostility towards her though."

"So that's why she doesn't like angels that much," mused Sam. Gabriel nodded.

"I'm really sorry she feels that way about me, as if I'm just another dead beat dad. But, I didn't have much of a choice. If I'd stayed, nobody would have hesitated to kill her but God offered me a solution - if I went back, he would ensure her safety."

"Well that is just fucked up!" said Dean, standing up; his anger clearly showing, "You always have a choice! Just look at Castiel! He did the unthinkable and he's always been saved!" Gabriel simply lowered his eyes.

"You'll never understand why I did what I did," he replied in a whisper before he disappeared.

"That's just great! He leaves once again! And he wonders why Lily hates him so much..." muttered Dean as he ran his hands over his face in frustration.

"Should we go after her?" asked Sam, looking from Dean to the door. Dean thought about it for a few seconds.

"Yeah, I think we should," he said finally.
