It was night time when they arrived. They took in their surroundings to orientate themselves a bit and then they took each other in. Gabriel was kind enough to also give them appropriate outfits.

Both Dean and Sam were wearing 40s style suits with trench coats on and they looked really dapper whilst Lily was wearing high-waisted, denim slacks and a black fitted button-up shirt and a thick black trench coat over her outfit. Not a typical 40s lady but she was sure to have Gabriel's balls if he ever put her in a dress.

It was freezing outside; especially so since it was the evening. She walked out of the alley with her companions in tow. People were still walking around so it wasn't that late in the evening. She spied a newspaper stack next to a closed shop and walked briskly towards it. She bent down to check the date - Thursday, 2nd December 1943.

"It's the night before she dies...at least he got one thing right..." she muttered.

"Awesome! We can chill for tonight and tomorrow we can go check out her neighbourhood and keep watch," replied Dean before continuing, "Hey Lil...what's the deal with you and Gabriel?"

She became visibly rigid at the mention of Gabriel. She didn't reply; instead she started walking in a random direction. She wasn't walking aimlessly...oh no...she was looking for a bar. She needed a drink, badly! Not that it would do anything for her, and it wasn't for lack of trying either!
Dean and Sam exchanged a quick look before they trailed after her.

"Hey Lil, wait up! Why won't you answer me?"

"Just drop it, Dean. It's private!" she replied without stopping. Both Dean and Sam shrugged and followed her. They knew she wasn't one to be prodded with questions - she had quite the temper and when her temper flared her powers flared along with it. For now it wasn't really that important anyway. They were here for a reason and they'd take care of that before anything else.

After about 10 minutes of silent walking, she stopped in front of a bar and after a few seconds of contemplation, went inside without waiting for Dean and Sam.

"Hey, seems like a good place to sleep too...they also have rooms for rent..." mused Sam, "What do you think?"

"Bar with rooms for rent? Absolutely fine with me!" grinned Dean before they both went in after Lily. She was already sat at the bar, coat off, sleeves rolled up thus showing off her sleeve tattoo and with a drink in her hand. They made their way to a nearby table. They knew she needed to be alone in that moment.

"Sammy, go get some beers."

Sam clenched his jaw and rolled his eyes slightly in irritation at his brother's bossy attitude but he got up nonetheless. He walked towards the bar, a bit further away from Lily and asked for a couple of beers as well as for two rooms. They were in luck. They got both.

He returned to the table, keys and beers in hand and just sat there talking about the case with Dean. They didn't notice the commotion until it was too late.

Lily was grateful for the boys leaving her alone with her drink at the bar. The bartender gave her a weird look when she showed up in front of him and she had also felt all eyes on her when she'd gone in, all alone. Not such a common thing, she guessed, for a woman to be wearing trousers, go into a bar alone, and then roll up her sleeves to show a massive tattoo on her arm.

She sighed and ordered a double whiskey. The bartender hesitated a little before serving her the drink. He didn't say anything though. She watched Sam talk to him after a few minutes and saw that he'd gotten some keys as well as beers. She immediately understood that he'd got them a couple of rooms right there.

She was drinking peacefully, that is until an obnoxious bastard came up to her and ruined everything!

"Hey dollface!" he slurred. Great! He was a drunk, obnoxious bastard.

"Why aren't you home in a kitchen, where you belong?" he sneered. Awesome! A drunk and chauvinistic, obnoxious bastard! She calmly placed her beer on the bar and turned to face him with an unamused look on her face.

"Say that again? I don't think I heard you correctly."

Nobody in their right mind could have missed the threatening tone in her voice in that moment but this guy was just stupid so he repeated what he said before making an attempt to sit down on the bar stool next to her. He never had the chance to though and he never saw it coming.

She kicked the stool out from under him and slammed his face down onto the bar's edge, effectively breaking the skin on his forehead. She grabbed a fistful of his hair, pulling his head back and spoke in a calm but condescending tone.

"How about you go back home and think about what you've just said to me and how ridiculous it sounds? I wonder how your mummy would feel if she knew her little boy disrespected women in this way! Now, I suggest you leave this bar, go home and start thinking about treating women like equals you asshole! You never know when one of them might just decide to kick your face to a bloody pulp!"
He stumbled as she let him go and mumbled 'Bitch!' to her. She narrowed her eyes in a way that said, 'Really? You wanna go there again?'

He bolted out of the bar as fast as he could then.

"You okay, Lil?" asked Sam as he rushed over. She sighed and shrugged before taking her drink and joining him and Dean at their table. She felt a bit more relaxed now that she'd released some of her pent-up stress on that idiot.

"Dean! Stop making eyes at that girl! It's not gonna happen!" said Lily with a knowing smirk. An hour had passed since the incident and they never once talked about the case. Instead they just enjoyed their evening...a relatively quiet one for once in their lives.

Dean looked at Lily with a raised eyebrow, "Huh?" It was obvious he'd been distracted.

"I mean, she's not that type of girl and you're not gonna get further than a dance, maybe even a kiss...on the cheek!" she explained. Dean narrowed his eyes at her.

"Have you ever known me to be turned down by a chick?" he asked, quite smugly too. Lily looked at Sam who raised his eyebrows. Dean just wasn't getting it at all.

"It's the 40s, one-night stands by girls aren't really that common. And I can tell that the one you've been eyeing is not that type!" she chuckled.

"Oh come on Lil, I bet you canʼt get that guy youʼve been eyeing since we got in here!"

Lily had in fact had her eye caught by this one guy in a soldier's uniform right after she scared that other drunk guy shitless. He was there with some other friends from the army. He was gorgeous and he had a cheeky smile. He was definitely her type - short, brown hair and blue eyes. She didn't even notice the other men, just him.

She looked at Dean with narrowed eyes after his comment before she smiled evilly.

"Care to put your money where your mouth is?" she asked.

"Iʼll take that bet," said Sam, "20 bucks says she gets the guy and you don't get the girl!"

Dean gave his brother a disgruntled look.

"Are you seriously betting against your own brother?" he asked shocked. Sam only grinned and nodded whilst Lily just laughed before taking out a twenty, knocked back her shot and got up with her eyes on her 'prey'.

She walked over to the man in uniform at the bar and gave him her best sultry look.
