I walked around aimlessly for a while until I got to a deserted area. I rested against a wall and felt weak all of a sudden. I slid down to the ground as I let the tears flow freely. Gabriel had explained why he had to leave but I still couldn't understand why he wouldn't fight for me if he really did love me as much as he said he did. The worst thing though at that moment was knowing I'd lost the only person that could possibly have become the love of my life.

"Lil." I didn't look up to see who it was. I knew perfectly well who it was. Both brothers sat on either side of me. Dean pulled me into his side while Sam grasped my hand in his.

"It's gonna be okay," soothed Dean.

Both Sam and Dean hated seeing Lily so broken, especially since they knew how strong she usually was. Now though, they understood her a little better. She's been through some awful shit in her life. Not just losing one person she cared about but also finding out she was what she was, finding out she had a death sentence on her head, and losing the person who was supposed to protect and fight for her.

They sat with her outside until she cried herself to sleep.

Both brothers stood up and Dean picked up the worn out girl so they could take her back to their motel room. He laid her down gently on the bed and let her rest.

"Hey, I'm gonna go to the house to make sure that we did get the ghost," whispered Sam. Dean nodded.

"Hey, be careful!" he whispered back before Sam left the room.

I opened my eyes to find myself in a bed. I sat up slowly and noticed Dean was asleep on the other bed while Sam was asleep on the couch. I sighed softly. I must have fallen asleep and the boys carried me back to their room. My throat hurt and my eyes burned from crying so much the night before. I got out of bed and went to the bathroom to freshen myself up a bit.

I turned on the tap and looked at myself in the mirror. I looked like crap. A shower would be a better choice, I thought to myself so I left the bathroom, scribbled a note and placed it next to Sam's laptop. I went back to my own room and straight into the shower.

As I let the water cascade down my naked body, I closed my eyes and thought of the moments I'd spent with Bucky. They were definitely some of the best moments of my life and I would cherish them always but it didn't help the sadness and anger that was engulfing me. Desperation at its best.

Once finished from my shower, I got out and wrapped a towel around myself. I exited the bathroom at the same time that someone knocked on my door. I walked over and opened it to find Dean standing there.

"Hey."

"Hey," I said with a small smile, "...thanks for last night."

"Don't worry about it. How are you holding up?" he asked. I sighed and shrugged.

"Not great," I admitted. Dean pulled me in for a hug.

"It will be okay."

"I know..."

"By the way, Sam checked out the house last night and he confirmed the poltergeist's gone for good. And, there's a bonus; the people who died by her hand are alive." I pulled away with wide eyes. This piece of news brought a smile to my face.

"That's great," I replied.

"Okay, I'll let you get dressed. Meet us in our room?" he asked. I nodded and he left.

I dried myself and threw on a pair of dark blue skinny jeans, a black tank top and my leather jacket. I rough-dried my hair a little bit before I packed my few belongings and made my way over to the brothers' room.

"Ready to go?" asked Sam. I nodded.

"Where to next?" I asked as I packed my stuff in the back seat of the car.

"Washington. There have been some mysterious deaths. One had her bones crushed as if she'd fallen off a tall building but was found in her bed - she wasn't moved from her bed, while another was found burnt to a crisp, again in their bed. They haven't been moved and there's no sign of a fire anywhere nearby."

I raised an eyebrow and shook her head, "Another ghost?"

"We don't know yet. We need to examine the bodies first and do the usual FBI routine," replied Sam.

Two and a half days later we were in Washington. We checked into a motel and got settled in. It was late at night when we arrived so starting work at that time wasn't really practical.

"Hey Sammy, go get us some food," said Dean. Sam glared at him and was about to say something about his bossiness but Lily stopped him.

"I'll go with you," she said. Sam just sighed and shrugged before they both left. Thankfully the motel was close to a few shops so it wasn't that long of a walk.

"He does this every time!" groaned Sam as they entered a convenience store they'd found about 10 minutes down the road.

"Give him some slack Sammy, he's been driving for the past two days and a half. We'll probably find him passed out somewhere when we come back," replied Lily whilst choosing some food.

"I guess you're right. He doesn't have to be so bossy though," he muttered.

"Yeah, I know, but you know his heart's in the right place," she said with a small smile on her face. Sam sighed and had to agree with her. They got the stuff they needed, paid for it and started walking back to the motel.

"Told ya," said Lily with a grin after she'd entered the room. Sam shook his head and laughed slightly. Dean was sprawled out on one of the beds, fast asleep.

"Guess he'll have his pie when he wakes up then," said Sam and started stacking things into the mini fridge.

"Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow. Sweet dreams," said Lily, grabbing her stuff and going to her own room.

The next morning, all of them were up early and they got dressed in their FBI gear, ready for the day's work ahead of them. All of them were in suits, including Lily who wore a black trouser suit with a white shirt.

First stop was the morgue. As Sam had described, one was completely bruised from the shattered bones and the other was full of third degree burns and it was unrecognisable.

"Anything else that we might need to know?" asked Dean.

The technician shrugged, "Not really. What you see is what you get. Nothing's missing from their bodies. The weird part is that they never moved from their beds."

"Hey guys, check this out," said Sam after lifting the burnt body's hand and checking the fingernails. Dean and Lily moved closer and saw the yellow substance.

"Sulphur," frowned Lily, "Check the other one."

"Same over here," muttered Dean.

"Thank you. We'll be going now," said Sam to the technician before they all left.

"Time to talk to the relatives," said Dean as they made their way to the Impala. They drove to the first victim's house - Sally Jenkins. Her husband opened the door and let them in once they showed him their badges.

"How would you describe Sally's behaviour before she died? Did she do anything different?" asked Dean. Michael, the husband, frowned.

"Surely you're not suggesting that she committed suicide!"

"No, we're not. We just want to make sure we get all the facts," replied Sam. In the meantime, Lily was upstairs checking the bedroom where Sally was found dead. Michael lowered his eyes and shook visibly.

"She was fine. She was the same old Sally...except the night before...she seemed a little more distracted. Nothing much out of the ordinary though," he explained before he let out a small laugh, "It's ironic though..."

"What is?" probed Dean.

"She used to be scared of heights and the way they said she died had to be the one death that would have scared her the most."

"She used to be? Before she died?"

"No, I mean, she went to some therapist last year and she miraculously got over her fear. She started going on roller coasters and even came skydiving with me last month...I still don't get how all her bones were crushed while she was sleeping...it's just not possible!"

Sam and Dean exchanged looks.

"And you were in bed with her at the time?" asked Sam. Michael nodded and looked on the verge of crying.

"I didn't notice anything. I just woke up and saw her all bruised. I shook her and she wouldn't wake up. I checked her pulse and there was nothing. How could I not have noticed?!" he cried.

"It's okay, Mr Jenkins. We'll do everything we can to find out what happened," Dean reassured him. Lily came down the stairs at that very moment and made a signal for them to follow her back upstairs.

"Do you mind if we go join our colleague upstairs?" asked Sam. Michael simply nodded and waved them off. They went upstairs.

"Check it out," said Lily with a frown while pointing underneath the bed. Dean knelt down and ran his fingers over the carpet.

"Sulphur." Lily nodded. They told her what Michael had told them about the therapist.

"Worth checking the therapist out. If it's a demon though, I can't go. They'll smell me a mile away. I'll go to the second victim's house and find out if he had a fear of being caught in a fire," suggested Lily.

"Okay, we'll get the details from Michael and go to this so-called therapist," agreed Sam.

They all went their separate ways and as the day went on, Lily found out that the burnt victim did indeed use to have a fear of being caught in a fire. He also had gone to the same therapist a year earlier. And there was sulphur under his bed too. She texted the brothers to let them know.

The brothers, on the other hand, didn't get anywhere. Dr. Melissa Harmsworth helped them out as much as she could and she told them she was as surprised as they were when her patients were suddenly cured of their phobias.

"Here, I'll even give you their files if that will help at all," she said as she made her way over to the files cabinet and opened it.

"That's odd..." she started.

"What is?" asked Sam. She turned to look at them with a frown.

"I swear I had their files in here, but they're missing..." she explained as she continued to check and re-check.

"Is there anyone else who has access to these files?" asked Dean.

"No, I keep this cabinet under lock and key. There's no way anyone else has been in here. I have the only key and I keep it with me at all times," she said, completely confused.

"The lock hasn't been forced either," observed Sam, "Who else comes in here besides you and your patients?"

"Just my secretary and the cleaning lady but I highly doubt either of them is responsible," she said.

"We'll be the judge of that," said Dean bluntly.

So, they questioned both the secretary and the cleaning lady but they got absolutely nowhere. They received a call from Lily who said there was another victim. They excused themselves and left the office building to join Lily at the morgue.
