Emery POV
I ran my hands through my damp hair. The bath had calmed me enough for me to take a deep breath and think about my current situation. I didn't know much but there were three things I knew for sure.
One: I've been kidnapped by a bunch of insane pirates.
Two: Troy could be useful and maybe even trusted. After all he was extremely kind for a supposedly violent pirate.
Three: Stay as far away from the Captain as possible.
At least one good thing came out of this...no Duke! A sigh escaped my lips as I walked back into my 'room' to try to find some clothes. After scouring the place from top to bottom I found nothing. I quickly pulled my dirty robe on and walked to the door. I was about to open it when I heard Troy's words play through my head.
"A word of advice, don't leave the cabin area. Just because I've showed you kindness doesn't mean anyone else will."
Pushing those thoughts aside I slowly opened the door and stepped into the hallway. Hesitantly, I walked down the long hallway until I found the door I was looking for. My hand reached up to knock before quickly falling back to my side as I had a mental battle with myself trying to decide if I should or not. Everything inside was telling me not to and to just return to my cabin but I really didn't want to stay in a dirty robe for god knows how long. I sighed and, against every good judgment, knocked on the door. I could hear a groan coming from the other side of the door.
"It's three in the morning. This had better be good. I swear if it's not, I will cut off your d-"The door flew open and Troy's eyes nearly bulged out of his head when he saw that is was me.
"Emery, hi." He rubbed the back of his neck and looked at me with an apologetic look.
"Sorry, I didn't know it was that early. I can come back later I guess." I turned to go back to my cabin but his hand wrapped around my arm and turned me back around.
"No, it's fine. What do you need?"
"I uh- I need clothes." I motioned to my robe and then folded my arms across my chest. Troy broke out in a smile and smacked his hand over his eyes.
"That's what we forgot!" He chucked but stopped when he saw my confused expression. He quickly cleared his throat before continuing.
"When we were preparing for your-"
He paused, clearly thinking of what word to use.
"-arrival, I had the feeling that we had forgotten something. Guess know I know what. Here I will get you something." He turned too walked into his room before turning back to me.
"You can come in, I don't bite." I gave a small smile as I hesitantly walked into his room. He rummaged through his wardrobe for a while before he finally found something. He turned around and placed them into my arms.
"This is the best I have. They are from a while ago so hopefully they will fit you. We will pick stuff up for you at our next stop." I glanced down at the bundle of clothes and muttered a quiet thank you.
"You can change in there if you'd like." He pointed to his bathroom and I scurried in, closing the door behind me. I peeled of the robe and replaced it with a tunic, grateful that I had put my corset on, and what looked to be leggings. Once I finished, I inspected myself in the mirror. The clothes were a little loose, but nothing too bad. Anything was better than that robe. I noticed my hair had fallen into natural loose curl and my fingers instinctively ran through it, getting out all the tangles. Once I was content with how I looked I opened the door and walked back to Troy who was leaning against the wall. He grinned and met me half way with a pair of boots in hand.
