Unknown POV:

I looked out to the sea with utter relief. Finally, that incapable good for nothing Pirate got her. I have waited far too long to have her and now the passing days are unbearable. I felt a hand rest on my shoulder but I still looked into the horizon, hoping to see the sails of a ship. But I knew full well that it would be months before she got to me.

"My brother, best not keep waiting." The hand gently turned me around.

"Maerwen, I need her. We need her. Sister, you of all people should know this."

"Gwanûr, Uuma dela. Re thel Tulien." (Brother, do not worry. She is coming.) I looked into the piercing blue eyes of my sister. She was breath takingly beautiful, with long, wavy white hair that fell to her waist. Maerwen and I are Sea Elves or Ear'quessir in Elvish tongue. I sighed, knowing she was right.

"Tula, vasa ar' yulna en i'mereth." (Come let us eat.) Maerwen smiled and pulled me away from the sea, but not without me sneaking one last look.

"Cormamin niuve tenna' ta elea lle."

Daniel POV:

"Those ships are to set sail in every direction as soon as possible. I want my daughter found and brought back alive." I rubbed my face, trying to stay awake. I hadn't closed my eyes in the slightest bit since Emery was taken. The lack of sleep was finally catching up with me, making it impossible to keep my emotions in tact, I could barely control my anger and, although he was her father, Arthur had no clue what he was doing.

"You're not going to find her." I mumbled coldy. I watched as Arthur turned to face me, obviously very insulted at what I had said. He stalked over to where I was sitting and picked me up by my shirt. He brought me close to his face before he began.

"Listen here, boy. Just because you were my daughters pet does not mean I like you. Nor does it mean that anything you say has to be taken into consideration. So let's just get this out of the way now. I don't like you. Not in slightest. But since you were the first one to find her gone, I will hear what you have to say. So Daniel, please enlighten me, why two hundred of Port Embers fastest ships will not find my daughter?" I tried my best to bite back the smirk that was growing on my face. As he put me back down on the floor. This man had no idea what he was doing.

"Well first of all, the Sea is huge. You may have two hundred ships but you are sending them off in different directions. Those Pirates have a seven days head start. You should be sending them in the directions that you think they went." Arthur gave me a cold glare.

"So what do you suppose we do?" I was about to open my mouth and reveal my plan but an idea stopped me.

"I take everything back, my Lord. I am just exhausted and didn't know what I was saying. Your plan is flawless. I will take my leave." I bowed my head and quickly walked out of the room leaving Arthur dumbfounded. I practically ran down the hall, wanting to get to my manor and gather my things together. For I have a long journey ahead. Suddenly I slammed into someone, sending them sprawling across the floor. Looking down I realized that it was none other than Maria.

"Maria! I am sorry, I wasn't paying attention." I kneeled down and helped the old woman up. Once she was on her feet she looked at me and gasped.

"Daniel, you look awful." I smiled and let a small laugh out of my mouth.

"Why thank you, Maria. You don't look so bad yourself." I started to walk away but she pulled me back, taking me fully by surprise. For an old lady she had a strong arm.

"Daniel, really, look at you!" She cupped my face in her hands and used her thumbs to rub under my eyes. It wasn't until her fingers started to burn my skin that I pushed her away.

"Maria, what on earth are you going on about?" She said nothing but instead took my hand and led me to the servant's chambers. Once we entered her tiny room, she led me in front of a mirror. My eyes widened at the man inside. My eyes had awful back bags under them that were so dark it looked to be charcoal smudges. That explains why Maria was rubbing them. My hair was messy, going in all different directions, and my face was drained of its usual golden color, leaving it ghostly pale.

"What is wrong with you?" Maria asked. I didn't answer, still stunned my appearance.

"When was the last time you slept?" That was a good question. I honestly had no idea how long it's been.

"Not since Emery was taken." That was enough to send Maria off into a tangent. She yanked me away from the mirror and practically threw me on her bed.

"Daniel that was a week ago! Do you know what happens to a man who doesn't sleep?" When I failed to respond, she answered for me. "Their hair falls out one by one and their nails peel off. Then they die a slow and very painful death." That didn't scare me like I know she wanted it too. I was far more concerned about Emery than my own well being.

"I can't sleep until I find her." I whispered, feeling the familiar pain rise into my chest.

"Daniel, don't be that person. You won't be much help to her if you are dead. I want you to sleep here where I can watch you and make sure you actually do." I sighed, knowing there was no way I could disagree with her. So I laid down on her surprisingly comfortable bed and closed my eyes, causing a stinging sensation. Not a painful kind of stinging, but a relief. It didn't take long before I finally fell into a deep sleep
