It took me two days to finally admit to everyone that Gabe kissed me on the cheek. I know it's something I should've told them immediately, but I know they would make a way bigger deal about it than it actually was. And I was right.
"He kissed you?" Andy half yells. Everyone is gathered in mine and Ken's room so we can watch a movie. We got back from Animal Kingdom about an hour ago, and we're all just exhausted.
"On the cheek. It was barely anything."
"That's not true. It's cute. Most guys would've rushed into things and just kissed you, but he didn't."
"It was just a kiss on the cheek. It doesn't count as anything."
"Maybe not to you, but maybe it does to him."
"Stop trying to make me love him! We live so far away, and I couldn't handle that. I wouldn't want to handle that! I'm happy as it is, and I don't need a boy to be happy. First it's Jayce, now it's Gabe. Can't you all just butt out of my love life?" I climb off my bed before slipping on flipflops and heading toward the door. I debate if I should even leave the hotel room, because I'm gray joggers, a black t-shirt, and my hair is up in a messy bun. I look so disgusting, but I don't want to be in here anymore.
I head downstairs and find an unoccupied couch near the two gift shops. I left my phone upstairs on accident, so I literally just sit there and watch everybody walk by. Meredith and Liana's mom pass, and they almost don't notice me, but Liana's mom stops in her tracks and turns to face me. Almost.
"What on earth are you doing down here? I thought you ten were watching a movie?"
"We were, but they kept bugging me about Gabe and I got sick of it and left." They both sit down on either side of me, and Liana's mom puts her hand on my knee.
"That's what best friends are going to do. They're going to want to know every detail of your love life, they're going to try and give you relationship advice, and they're going to try and set you up with guys because they just want you to be happy." Meredith explains.
"I know but he lives in Florida, I live in New York. I can't fall for him, and I've told them that. Them continually trying to make me date him is getting ridiculous."
"Siena, distance means nothing when someone means everything."
"How is he suppose to mean everything to me right now?"
"Maybe not right now, but he will if you give him the chance to." Liana's mom says.
"So you're saying I should be with him?"
"I'm saying that you should do whatever makes you happy. Forget about distance. Hey, dating a Disney cast member gives you excuses to come to Disney whenever you want."
"And I'm saying that you need to get your butt back upstairs and make up with them because a fighting team means a bad team and you guys deserve to win this thing. Don't let a fight stop that."
"And also, it looks like Ken is looking for you." Liana's mom points out as she points over to Kendall wandering around. Meredith waves her arms up, and Ken comes running over.
"We'll be upstairs."
"Siena, I'm sorry we made you mad. It's just you actually seem comfortable, and happy around him. He obviously likes you. We didn't think you'd be the type to get all worked up over distance. And we haven't been trying to force you to date him. We've been trying to help you open your eyes and realize that there is a great guy that really likes you, and you should give him a chance."
"I just can't get hurt again."
"You're going to let John ruin your chances at a relationship? You're going to constantly turn away cute guys that like you because of something a stupid teenage boy did to you five months ago?"
