"I'm nervous." I admit
"I know. This is our first time competing with a pointe dance in a year." Andy says as she finishes her makeup.
"We're the only team competing with a pointe dance. We need to win."
"And you will." Meredith comments. "Stop being so paranoid. You've all worked so hard for this."
"Siena can I borrow your mascara?" Ken asks.
"Of course." She borrows my makeup while I hurry to get my hair done so I can get in my costume. My phone goes off and Ken checks it for me.
"Gabe says that he and everyone else is out there."
"Everyone else?"
"Like maybe his friends?" Andy explains.
"Yeah, that makes sense." I get in the costume, and Beth asks me to start vlogging since I'm the first done.
"Hey guys! So it's March 25th, which means it's the last part of the competition. If we win this, we win the entire competition. We go on in fifteen minutes, and I'm the only person that's ready." I explain as I show everyone else getting ready. "Aren't our tutu's gorgeous? I'm in love."
"We get it S! You look like a princess." Emily calls.
"No I am a princess." Our Tutu's are baby blue like Cinderella's dress. I honestly feel like a princess. Everyone else finishes getting ready while I keep vlogging. Meredith is going to take over from the stands while we're dancing.
We're led backstage, and I start filming what's going on. Fans like to see the behind the scene things.
"Alright girls, I have to go to my seat. But I know you're all gonna kill it. There is nothing stopping you from winning this. You are 100% capable. Remember, a dream is a wish your heart makes."
"What does that have to do with anything?" I ask.
"I was trying to be deep and it didn't work. Good luck, love you all." She takes the camera from me and rushes out to the stands.
"So, let's go out there and prove how on pointe we really are." I say, because Meredith's speech didn't really get us all too pumped.
"You're such a loser." Ken laughs.
***
This costume is so uncomfortable. We killed our big group dance, and my group just killed our little group dance, but this green skirt and purple crop top is pretty uncomfortable. It's okay. I wore it for the dance, now I can change out of it. They're announcing the top three in five minutes, so I really have to rush to change. We get back out on stage with plenty of time to spare.
The announcer goes through the process of picking the winning team, which was total up the points from all three dances. They're not going to give us places for the group dances, they're just going to tell us who came in third, second, and first place of the overall competition. I'm latching on to both Ken and Andy as the man pulls the card out of the envelope.
"Third place, Team Pennsylvania." Everyone claps, and the entire team goes up to get their trophy. "Second place, Team Maryland."
"Team Maryland was our biggest competition." Andy whispers to me. "Hopefully this means we won." I can't even answer back because I'm so nervous.
"And first place, Team New York." The crowd roars with applause and I hug Ken and Andy quickly, and I of course start crying. We won. We won the entire competition. We go up to get our trophy, and they have us pose for a picture with it. It's huge. And heavy. They try to have me hold it, but Emily and Tessa end up grabbing on to the side just so I don't drop it.
