I open my eyes and close them again, the light was foreign to my eyes after a long sleep. I open my eyes again and struggle to keep them opened until they adapt to the sunlight beaming through my window. I get up from my bed and enter the bathroom connected to my room. I look into the mirror and stare into the face in front of me. A girl with extremely pale skin, she had black hair that reached her hips, her hair was the darkest shade of black you could ever see. Her hair had a curly natural texture but was soft at the same time, her eyes were a bluish grey colour, that suited her.

I got out of my trans by my mother's voice.

"Adele, honey, Are you up?"               "Yeah mom, I'm up"

"Breakfast will be ready in 10 minutes"          "Okay"

I proceed with my morning routine, almost in a robotic manner. Brush my teeth, wash my face, have a wee and shower. After I dry myself, I put on some moisturizer and lip balm. I wasn't a huge fan of make up, so I usually didn't bother with it, except for eyeliner and a berry lip lipstick.

I get out of the bathroom and stare at my nearly empty room. I've been packing and preparing for uni for the last two weeks. The university I'm going to is in a small town called Crescent Dale. The building of the university was originally a castle which was gifted to the Albert family after they made an important discovery in the 1800s. They now own and run the university. Professor George Albert is the current dean of the uni, he is the great grandson of Charles Albert who made the discovery. I tried to search about what they discovered but found nothing.

I love a lot of things, one of them is adventures, and I have a feeling that finding what this discovery is will be an adventure. My major is Creative Writing and English Literature. Writing is one of my passions besides music, although I never considered music as a career. It has always been my escape, I always felt a rush of energy through my veins when I sang or listened to music.

Back in reality now, I grabbed the outfit I left from the night before. Since it was the beginning of september, it was slightly chilly and autumnal. So I wore a pair of black jeans with rips at the knee and a light grey loose fitted jumper. I completed my outfit with my staple pair of black studded ankle boots. I let my hair dry naturally and take its natural wavy structure, honestly it was too long to bother to do anything with it.

I went downstairs and headed to the kitchen. My mom was making a full on English breakfast, as I loved it so much. "Thanks mom" I said as she put the plate in front of me, "Where is dad?" I asked

" Here I am my little princess" Dad said while kissing my cheek, "Daaad" I said grumpily, "I'm not little, I'm heading to uni in an hour" ,    "You'll always seem little in my eyes" Dad said cheerfully,             "I'm going to miss you guys" I said tearing up a bit, "Oh Adele, we'll miss you too" Mom said hugging me.

We finished breakfast and then they drove me to the station where we said our goodbyes. It was a 3 hour drive to Crescent Dale. Luckily, I had a book and my headphones with me to pass time. I was so excited for uni, I couldn't wait.
