Peridot ran her fingers through Lapis' hair carefully as she held her on the bed. "I...I want to help him...I really do..." Lapis looked up at her teary eyed. Peridot sighed and got up, pickinng up one of her roboniods. "I still have to do these experiments too....I wish I-" she stopped and suddenly she got an idea. A brilliant and somewhat awful idea. But it would work. It most certainly would.

"Alright, bring out the human!" Yellow Diamond ordered as Jasper nodded and went to fetch Steven. Ever since Pearl and Amethyst had escaped freely, Jasper was desperate to climb back up the ranks. Peridot stood in the main room and had Lapis handcuffed and on a chain. Lapis had her head down and avoided eye contact with anyone and tried to look like she was suffering. Steven was brought out and looked up fearfully.

"Lapis!" He shouted, getting teary eyed. "Let her go! Peridot!" The general frowned and simply shook her head no. "Whoaa, hey!" Steven's voice shook as he was struck with the gem destabilizer. Yellow Diamond looked on in surprise as Steven resisted the device, but the yellow spread through his veins. "What??" Yellow Diamond managed to say. "If he was a human it would have no effect at all! What IS he?" Peridot stepped forwards. "That is what I wish to find out! I will keep him at my base and conduct experiments." Yellow Diamond seemed hesitant. "And you will show me the body when you are finished?" Peridot felt sick but nodded. "I will do a full dissection!"

"Sounds like a plan. Alright, take him away." Yellow Diamond said contently. "Nooo!" Steven cried as Peridot handcuffed him. "Hahahah...pathetic..." Yellow Diamond laughed lightly. Peridot put Steven on the chain next to Lapis and started leading them away. She just wanted to get out of there....Steven was fighting and trying to run away, and Peridot had to yank the chain. "Lapis! Do something!" Steven shouted looking up at the blue gem. Lapis slightly looked behind her and saw that Jasper was watching them walk away. "I can't....i'm a slave now..." she said as upset sounding as she could. Jasper finally turned down a hallway and once Peridot was outside she ruffled Steven's head. "Shhh, Steven keep quiet..."

"Huh??" Steven asked but finally stopped struggling and just walked, following Peridot. Once Peridot was safely inside her base, she locked the door behind her, and unchained everyone. "What's going on? Are you really a slave Lapis?" Steven asked. Lapis slightly smiled. "A little." She said, embracing Peridot , who looked away and blushed. Steven slightly widened his eyes. "But-Didn't Peridot hurt you or something?" He asked running up to her. Peridot bit her lip as Lapis knelt down to Steven's level. "She did a couple times...but...it's different now..." Steven seemed really confused and walked over to the wall. "I'm not going to hurt you. I had to tell Yellow Diamond that so that we could bring you here." Steven turned around teary eyed. "But what about Pearl and Amethyst! And Garnet! Amethyst said she's-" Steven bit his lip as he finally started to cry.

"It's okay though Steven! You're safe!" Lapis tried to comfort him. "No it's not! I gotta go find them!" Steven whimpered and ran towards the door. Peridot blocked him however. "Steven...There's tons of other gems out there! Hostile gems! They're gonna want to hurt you! Please, stay here...Lapis is the one who wanted to help you!" Steven crossed his arms as tears streamed down his face. "B-Besides..." Lapis started off; "They're the ones who-"

"THEY'RE MY FAMILY!" Steven shouted making Lapis back away. She crossed her fingers together and sighed. "I'm-I'm sorry Steven..." she said softly. Steven just sat on the sofa and frowned. Peridot suddenly spoke up. "We have to get out of here. Yellow Diamond thinks I'm...you know...We need to get to Earth." Steven looked up when he heard the word Earth. "You'll take me home?" he asked. Peridot nodded. "Geez...we might be staying there...I don't want to stay here under Yellow Diamond's command anymore..."
