Chapter 5: A Valentine's Day In Fairy Tail

3rd person pov.
It's a cool morning as everyone makes their way to the guild. Natsus injures have now healed properly, even without Wendy's aid. He walks hand in hand with his new happy and blushing girl friend. They exchanged flushed glances, around Lucy's neck was a very distinct white scarf. "Natsu you know you didn't have to let me wear your scarf... It's from Igneel after all." She blushes as he kisses her softly. "Shut up dummy I want you to wear it right now. Oh ya before I forget could you come see me tonight at the center of town." He blushes darker and kisses her running off. Lucy let's out a sigh as she watches him run from the guild hall, "alone on Valentine's Day again." She huffs as she walks into the guild and sits at the bar pouting. Mira makes her way over and smiles, "hello Lucy where's Natsu, you to have been together everyday since you got back." She giggles. Lucy was rather sad at the absence of her dragon slayer. "He just ran away after asking me to meet him tonight. He's such a child." She starts to giggle a little and sits up holding a small bag. The scent of chocolate filling the air. "I wanted to give him this." Mira let's out a giggle and points to Juvia, erza, and levy. "Your not the only one, at least your dragon claims you." She teases.

Natsu, Gray, Gajeel, and Jellal all congregated into Natsu's small house. Natsu smirks as he starts to talk. "So is it ready?" Gray snickers and says softly. "She's got you whipped." Gajeel starts laughing with gray until Natsu speaks up, "at least I've got the balls to take my mate. I mean between you three your doomed to die alone." He smirks. Gray and Gajeels faces flush while jellal sighs.

Back at the guild the guild doors blow open fast, a loud boom resinating a loud boom through the guild. Kiyoshi stumbled inside "Natsu...why won't you love...me?" He collapses on to the ground leaving everyone inside not only worried but disturbed by the open statement he made. Mira sighs and looks at Lucy, "ummmm he likes Natsu?" Lucy goes pale as she answers softly "yea... He kidnapped me so Natsu would come." Wendy didn't wait long and started to heal him. "Lucy is he a bad guy?" She asks nervously until Lucy shakes her head saying no. Wendy let's out a relaxed breath as she heals him.

Natsu and the rest make their way back to the guild. As Kiyoshi's scent catches his nose he starts running. Gray growls as he runs "Where the hell are you going?!" Natsu stays silent as he reaches the guild. He rushed to Lucy's side "what the hell is he doing here?!" He starts his flames as Lucy smiles softly at the protectiveness he's showing for her. She wraps her arms around his neck holding him close. "Hush Natsu there's nothing wrong, he's unconcious and he just wants to talk with you." She giggles and presses her cheek against his.

Natsu's pov
I blush as her cheek touches mine, I think for a moment about ruining the suprise but I decide to wait it out. I look down at the unconcious boy at the guilds entrance, he dosent seem as bad as he did when he took Lucy. "Wendy can you wake him up?" I move away from Lucy hearing her whine softly from my leaving. Wendy nods her head at me as the green glow fades from her hands. I watch as his eyes slowly open, I bend down beside him and sighs. "Are you ok?" He sequels and tackle hugs me. "Natsu-chan!!! You care about me after all!" I blush red and hit his head hard. "There is no way in hell that I'll ever be like you the way you like me." I growl as he pets his head and whines, "But Natsu-chan your my hero. I wanna be with you and love you!!!" I back away and hides behind Lucy "Lucy... Save me." I hear her sigh before saying softly. "I'm sorry but he's my boyfriend. There are a lot of people out their for you so please leave Natsu alone." Her beautiful and soft smile claiming my heart. He starts pouring and starts walking out. "I'll be back for my Natsu!" He slams the doors closed as I let out a sigh, I blush when I remeber her words. "L-Lucy... If I'm your boyfriend will you be my m-mate?" She blushes and looks away. "Ummm I don't know but... I guess so." Natsu smiles big and leans into and bites her ear softly. A small his of pain slips from her lips as wipe away the small stream of blood. "I'm sorry... But this is a dragon thing." I blush and lean in cupping her cheek in my palm. I push my lips to hers softly, gradually deepening the kiss. I pull away and see her blushing cheeks, her hair slightly falling in front of her eye. I quickly brush it away and behind her ear "Lucy... I love you. I don't know how I can make you know just how much you mean to me..." My eyes widen as her lips silence me she wraps my scarf around our necks. "Natsu I do realize it, and I love you too silly." As she finishes her words a loud explosion echoes through magnolia. I jump and scarf is pulled lazily around my neck. "Lucy stay here I'll check that out." I start running out wrapping my scarf around my neck. I sigh when I see her run after me. As I reach the heart of town my eyes widen in disbelief. There right before me is "zeref? Your not supposed to be here." I growl as he simply starts walking away, the dead riddling the streets. I start to feel the anger and rage building up inside of my body. I let a pained cry as my head starts to sprout horns once again, my flames clinging to my body taking a golden glow of their own. I rush towards him as fast as I can, my fist making contact with his hand. The force from the attack sending a shockwave through the the destroyed homes. I hear Lucy fall from the force of the attack. I back away and yells as I throw my flames at him, I growl as even after pushing all of my power foreword he's still unharmed. His voice is still calm and lazy as he starts to walk away. "Natsu your of no use to me now, get lost." His voice is cold as he swipes his arm at me sending me into Lucy. I hear her lose the air in her chest as we collided. When I look back up there's no trace of zeref. I turn now back to Lucy she giggles as she holds her bleeding head. "Natsu your so fat get off me already." I feel the horns on my head fading as I pick her up, tears swelling in my eyes as I run with. "Lucy stay awake please I'll get you to Wendy fast." Her injury much more serious then she'll let on scaring me. I feel her body go limp as I near the guild, tears starting to stream down my face. I Kick the doors in as yell, "Wendy please save my Lucy!" I drop to my knees holding her in my arms. Wendy runs over and starts to heal her, tears also streaming down her cheeks "Natsu she's..." I snap at her "don't you dare say that! She's gotta be ok." Wendy bites her lips and keeps trying, Lucy's breathing comes back but she won't wake up after almost fifteen minutes Wendy tells me something I never wanted to hear, "Natsu she's in a coma... There's no way of knowing when she could wake up. I'm sorry Natsu." I stay silent, my hair covering my eyes as I pick her and walks out of the guild. Erza and levy being the only ones to follow. I push open the door to her apartment, laying her in the bed and covering her body with her blanket. I start to clean up her small room as Erza and Levy make their way inside. I can see the despair on their faces as they look down at Lucy. I bite my lip as I ask, "Erza how do I keep her feed and hydrated?" I keep my hair over my eyes as I sit beside her bed. "Natsu she might need an I.V. It'll keep her alive but she'll be weak once she wakes up." I nod slowly not able to talk, my throat closing my eyes up as I feel tears swelling in my eyes. Levy swallows hard and kisses Lucy's head before running out not being able to handle both her friend in this state and my unresponsive reaction. Erza looks at Lucy and then to me. "Natsu... Your gonna stay by her side aren't you?" When I nod my head she smiles and pets my head. "Take care of her Natsu... I'll come by and help every chance I get. Take care of yourselves Natsu." And with that she leaves me all alone with my unconcious bestfriend, and mate. I start to cry as I say softly, "Lucy I won't lose you or leave you so you have to fight for me." I kiss her sleeping head before sitting on the floor beside her bed.
