Chapter 7

Pacificas POV

It was a few hours before the talent show. Me and Dipper were practicing for the showcase. He was shooting fire bolts at targets and I was shooting my target with my bow. It took me a couple of tries before I landed my first headshot than right after that I saw a small boy about the same age as Dipper but way shorter and has white hair, but he wasn't alone there was four people with him and they all look like their gonna team up for the Cipher games. But just than I noticed they were walking towards me he white haired boy in the front congratulated my headshot and said that he's name was Gideon Gleeful and that the four people around were Tambry, Robbie, Nate and Lee. Then they offered me a chance to join them in the Cipher games but then I remembered my advice from Stan and my promise with Dipper and turned them down. Gideon quickly grabbed my arm and pulled me close to his face and said in a creepy voice "You better say your prayers girl and if I were you I would kiss your boyfriend goodbye". When I heard that I felt so uncomfortable that I was thinking of grabbing an arrow and stabbing him in the chest. And I was about to do so but Dipper came out of nowhere and released Gideon's grip from my hand by shoving him away and saying "Hey leave her alone." "You made a powerful enemy today boy" He said as he and his gang walked away. I could immediately tell that Dipper hated that guy even if he just talked to him for 30 seconds. After releasing his death stare on Gideon he quickly said to me in a concerned voice "Hey you alright". "Yeah i'm fine" I said but he quickly switched the topic by saying "So what did those guys tell you". I just told him "They wanted me to join their killing club" "And you said no" he said "Yeah I kinda turned them down". I could immediately tell that he was touched that I kept my promise. "Let's just get back to work" I said. remembering that only one will survive "I won't get attached to dipper no matter how cute he is" I thought to myself while walking back to my target.

Dippers POV

It was show time I'm gonna show the sponsors my magic while Pacifica is going to show them her bow skills. It was Pacifica's turn first but before she went I said to her "shoot straight". When she returned she wished me luck and I stepped forward but just as I stepped forward I remembered that a little girl was following me and she was about Pasifica's age and I believe her name was Candy Chiu. But then I just forgot about my stalker and focused on impressing the sponsors. When I entered the stage the game manager was on top of the viewing gallery he had a hat and I think his name was Bud Gleeful he said in a friendly southern country voice "Alright show what you got". I quickly opened up my book said the spell "Fiat Ignis" and ball of blue fire came out of my hands and missed my target. I tried again and my target became a scorching pile of ash. I turned to look at the judges but they're weren't paying attention because they're too busy enjoying the food. So I decided to get their attention the hard way so I opened my book to another chapter and said the words "Sit Scintillae" and a magic arrow of arcane magic appeared and impaled the apple Bud was about to eat. Immediately they all turned and I replied " Thank you for paying attention and for standing still". Immediately I went to the room where the district 12 team were staying in. My Grunkle Stan quickly congratulated me but "If that ever happens again aim a bit to the left" he said but when I entered things started to change Soos quickly came to me and said "Dude that wasn't the best move you you'll never gonna get any sponsors now right" After that president Bud's voice was heard through the TV and it said "Now were are going to judge you from 1 until 10." after that they gave the judging from districts 1 to 11 and then it was district's 12 turn as we we were all listening attentively the TV said "Pacifica Northwest of District 12 gets an 8 out of 10". We all congratulated Pacifica but there's something about her when I saw her face as she heard the score. But then it was my turn the TV said " Dipper Pines of District 12 gets a............ wait this can't be right it says here that Dipper Pines got a 11 out of 10". As we heard the score the entire team just stared at me in disbelief and all of a sudden they chanted my name even Pacifica was playing along. Soon after the whole chanting Grunkle Stan said in a concerned voice "Okay tomorrow's your last chance of making any sponsors so make a good impression.After that we got ready for bed me and Pacifica still sleeping in the same room. "Thanks" I heard her say it was the first time ever I ever heard her say thank you and I immediately said back "Anytime".
