Forever Doesn't Last Forever

Chapter 6

In the morning, Emma again woke up before the others, but she didn't practice magic, she just walked around in circles. She was about to go back to the camp, but was stopped by Pan.

"Hello again Emma."

She held up her hands for protection. "What do you want?"

"I wanted to ask you about Hook."

"What about him?"

"Do you think he cares about you."

Without hesitation Emma said, "Yes."

"Really? You really believe that?" Pan asked with a smirk.

"Yes I really believe that. Are you done?"

"Well, I just wanted you to know that he doesn't. You are just a princess and he just wants to use you."

Emma started getting mad. "You're lying."

"Am I? Has he saved you from anything or anyone? How has he protected you? I think that he left you. Is that right?"

"Well-"

"Exactly. He doesn't and won't ever love you. That kiss you two shared, it didn't mean anything."

Emma raised her hands up and a blast of magic shot out in his direction, but he disappeared before it could hit him. As a result, a branch fell off of a tree. Soon after, Emma heard footsteps running up to her. By the way the person ran, it was Hook.

"Swan what the bloody hell happened?" He asked.

"No. No stay back. I told you my magic was a curse." She said in tears.

"What are you talking about?"

"Pan, he toyed with my emotions, and emotions are linked to magic."

"What did he say?" Hook asked and took a step forward but that resulted in Emma taking a few steps back.

"It doesn't matter. What matters is that you need to get as far away from me as possible." Emma said.

"No I'm not leaving you."

"You have to! For your safety!"

Hook stepped forward some more, but she just started going backwards again. "Emma, it's okay. You won't hurt me."

"Please, I don't know what I will do to you."

"Swan-" He began, but she just ran off into the forest. He chased after her, but she was too fast. He went back to the camp and dismissed the crew back to the ship. Once they all left, he went after Emma. Going in the direction his gut told him to go in.

Emma ran and ran until her legs started to hurt. She sat down under a tree and stayed there. She thought about what Pan said. 'Did he really care or was it a rouse?' Thinking only made things worse. She threw her hands up and another blast of magic came out and another branch fell to the ground. Hook saw this and ran to it. When he got there, Emma was sitting under a tree.

"Swan, it's okay." He said.

Emma whirled her head around and stood up. "Hook I told you it's not safe around me right now. You have to go. Go back to the Enchanted Forest."

"No not without you."

"Please. I-I can't control this."

Hook stepped forward, but Emma didn't step backwards. "Emma, I can help you."

Emma held her hands out with her palms up. She was looking at them and him. "Hook no don't." He put his fingers on hers and he was blasted backwards.

"See I told you, you can't help me and I hurt you. Killian please just go." Emma was in tears and she started to run, but he got to her first.

He grabbed onto her arm and nothing happened, so he brushed his hand down her arm and stopped at her hands. "That was the first time you called me Killian."

"Yea and it is the first time I hurt you too. There is a first for everything."

"You didn't hurt me love."

Emma looked down and saw a tear in his leather pants and blood running down it. "No look I did!"

Hook looked down and saw the cut on his leg that he didn't know was there. "Swan I'm fine."

"It doesn't matter. I still did that to you."

He tightened his grip on her hands. "It's okay. Cmon lets go back to the ship."

"No it's too hard. Go on without me."

"What's too hard love?"

"Being with you and knowing I can't have you."

"Why would you care about not having me?"

"Because I have freedom with you, and without you I wouldn't have it." Emma lied. She wanted to tell him that he was the reason she couldn't go with him.

"So you want to go back to your home?"

"No. I don't know. Even though I like the freedom, I have responsibilities there."

"And you have to marry Jacob."

"Right."

"Emma if you love the freedom just come and live with me and the crew."

"I can't. I'd have freedom, but no love."

"I can give that to you."

"What?"

"I can give you love Swan."

"What do you know about love? You're a pirate."

"That may be so, but come with me. I'll tell you the things he will never tell you." He said.

"You don't get it! You lied to me and broke my trust, and once someone breaks my trust it is very hard to get back." She stopped walking and faced him.

"Why would you care about my trust?"

"Because-"

"Because what Swan? Why?"

"BECAUSE I LOVED YOU!" She yelled.

Hook stood in awe. "You loved me?"

"Yes. I loved you, but you are a pirate. Incapable of loving anyone back right? That's why I lost control. Pan came up to me taunted me with the kiss. It meant something to me, but I wasn't sure if it did to you."

"Of course it meant something to me. I have loved you since the day that I befriended you at the castle."

Emma sighed and looked up and into the blue orbs. "Really?"

He brought her close to his body. "Yes. Really."

"Very sweet and touching moment, but I'm afraid you can't leave unless I say so." Pan said interrupting them.

"Cool!" Emma said sarcastically.

"Cmon Swan let's go to the ship. I have something to show you." Hook said.

They walked away from Pan and back to the ship.
