NElliot's POV
Today has to be the worst day ever.
After spending an eternity saying good bye to my Mother, she finally let me go. With a wave sent my mothers way, I was off. It took me a while to find the other interns, mostly because they were all dressed in casual clothes. I expected to be looking out for a group of rich men in suits but instead found a group of teenage boys in cargo shorts and converse. It made me feel out of place considering the fact that I looked very over dressed, thanks to Jakob.
He probably did this on purpose. It was another one of Jakob's antics to get under my skin and it sure was working! I was getting looks from almost everyone. The Interns were glaring me down and women who looked twice my age were batting their lashes at me. Teenage girls were taking photos thinking I wouldn't notice. One idiot even had her flash on. Important looking business men were nodding their head at me and smiling. Anyone would love this sort of attention... Just not me.
Minutes passed by before a very familiar face appeared amongst the crowd of people. The man in the fancy Gucci suit. I gulped and looked everywhere but at the important man.
Mr Hartley had his own entourage as he made his was over to us. The entourage mainly included what looked like body guards and Intern Buddies. They all rocked "million dollar suits" and perfect smiles. They looked like they belonged on a red carpet with the amount of attention they were drawing.
"Stand, stand!" Hartley spoke and everyone stood immediately "just a few things I'm going over before we begin our journey" Hartley smiled at everyone in the room which made them shift uncomfortably because he had that sort of effect on people.
"Now, we will be making two stops along the way. Keep up with the group because we will not be waiting for anyone. Once we arrive at LAX you will all be directed to your hotels where you will settle for the night, is that clear?"The whole room broke into many Yes'. I couldn't help but smile like an idiot. This was my first time leaving the country which made me super excited. However, all this smiling was getting me the wrong sort of attention from everyone.
" Something funny?" Mr Hartley said. I turned around to see who he was talking to. Everyone moved away from me which made it very obvious that Hartley was talking to me.
"Nothing, I'm just really excited to finally go to LA" I said but dreaded what he was going to say next to me.
"Whys that may I ask?" A boy who looked about my age who stood beside Hartley spoke up. He raised a brow at me and stared me down from head to toe.
I wanted to tell them I was excited because I've never been out of Australia. I wanted to let them know I've never met another American before and that I had a million questions to ask them. I wanted to let him know that I was super excited to experience summer in another country but he would never care anyways, he's just another rich brat who puts down other humans who don't live up to his standards. So I took on Jakob's advice lie, lie and lie. Cocky persuasion always does it.
" why else? I'm a man of my business and it so happens to be that Los Angeles currently holds the largest market in selling and producing, imagine all the great things us Australians can offer to expand the market?" now that was a perfect example of a bad lie.
"Hmm, I like this one" The boy whispered into Hartley's ear but I heard it all. I couldn't help the smile that appeared on my lips. Let's see how far my lies can take me. Hartley smiled and nodded his head at me in approval to what I just said.
