I had bought a new shirt before heading home, handing my old clothes to another Guild member cleaning up the mess. As I walked in the door I noticed Nyx was asleep on the couch, but as soon as I walked in she sat up and looked at me curiously. "Are you alright?" She asked.

"Yeah? Why?" I raised an eyebrow.

"You didn't hear the police sirens? You didn't notice the double murder? You were in town."

"How do you know I was in town?" I questioned.

"I watched you out the window from my classroom."

"There was no way you would have known that was me. The closest building is two hundred yards away from the street."

She rolled her eyes and laid back down. "I saw you."

"It was dark!"

"I saw you! So just calm the fuck down. I was worried it was you who got murdered. I called your phone like six times and you didn't answer." She told me.

"Yeah right. With you sleeping on the couch I'm sure..." Sure enough when I pulled my phone out there was six mixed calls from her. When I looked up she was glaring at me like she couldn't believe I thought she didn't care.

She stood up and sighed before heading upstairs, shutting the TV off and leaving the remote on the railing of the staircase like she always does.

"Nyx wait!" I called as I followed her.

"Just leave me alone alright?" She grumbled.

"Nyx I can't just leave you alone! You're upset!" I told her as I grabbed her arm, only to have her pull herself away.

"Devin! I swear to god! Just fuck off please!" She snapped, slamming her door in my face.

"I'm not leaving until you talk to me!" I yelled through the door, but she didn't answer. I thought about sitting in front of the door and waiting, but she'd fall asleep before she chose to say something to me. I bit my lip before pushing the door opened.

It was an unspoken rule not to go into Nyx's room when she was angry. Although she was usually an angel, her temper tantrums caused her to say and do things she would normally never do. Like throw things or hit people. Her way of coping was to go into her room and stay there until she felt better.

She's never hurt me, but I have been slapped a couple times but only because I pushed her well over her limit before she got to her room. Usually when the door closes I leave her be, but since she was worried for my safety I wanted to talk to her, to make sure she knew I was alright.

But when I opened the door, her room was empty, and her window was opened. I leaned out the window and sighed. "I know you're on the roof." I called.

"When are you going to learn..." I heard her mumble from above me. When I looked up all I saw was the bottom of her feet. "I was scared to death! I thought you had been killed by some... some murdering bastard! Then you just come home and get moody with me!"

"You were the moody one if you want to be completely honest." I answered, looking back ahead of me at the street bellow. The lamps cast an almost ere glow over the view in front of me.

"Don't fucking start with me Devin or I swear to god you'll wish you were murdered." Nyx answered, I heard movement above me and when I looked she had moved so she was higher on the roof and I couldn't see her. "I was so scared..." I heard faintly.

"I'm sorry Nyx. I had a rough day." I told her. "Can we talk face to face now?"

"Just... please leave me alone." She said. "I'll come down when I'm ready."
