As I'm changing into my swimsuit, someone knocks at the door. I hurry up and tie my top before I open it, then I do. It's Matthew.

"Hey, no time for swimming," he says.

I sigh, "are you kidding?" I ask.

"No, we have to go eat," he says.

I sigh, "fine," I say.

He smiles and kisses my cheek, "happy birthday Ally," he says.

I smile, "thanks," I say. "Guess I gotta get changed now," I say looking at my bikini.

He starts walking then turns around, "wear something small and fancy," he says and winks.

I laugh, "haha okay,"

Cameron drives Matt, Aaron, Jack J and me. I still have no idea where we are going.

"So we only have a month left," Aaron says, breaking the silence.

I've been staring out the window watching the palms and wishing I had my phone.

"Yup," I say.

I'm also wishing my best friend was here.

"So what's the deal with your step dad? Didn't he text you and like threaten to come out here?" Matt asks after a minute.

"Yeah I don't give a shit," I say. "He can do whatever," I say.

"No, he can't. That's not okay," interrupts Cam sternly.

"You wanna have a talk with him when he gets here to drag me back to Indy? Go right ahead. He'll just go all lawful on you," I say. "'I'm her legal guardian, I can do whatever I want' blah blah blah," I spit.

"If it comes to that. Maybe he was just in the heat of the moment. You lied to him, but it was for a.. good cause," he says smiling at the end.

I push my mouth into a small grin. "Yeah. Where's Shawn?"

"Uhh I don't know. He was supposed to meet us at the house before we left. He'll meet us here," he says.

Great. Late on this one day. That's not even typical Shawn.

I wear a short, tight black dress to compliment my curves and such. I know we're going somewhere fancy.

We pull into a restaurant lit up on the outside, connected to a strip. Nice.

"We're eating here," says Cam, parking the car.

I stare at the ground as we walk in, Aaron puts his hand on my back. I look over and give him a small smile.

"Don't sweat it. He's missing out on a pretty lady," he says with a chuckle.

"It's not like he's not coming at all," I say as he opens the door and let's me in.

"He'll be here soon," I hope.

Cameron makes his way to the counter. He looks outside hesitantly and then around the restaurant. The worker at the counter is confused, but Cameron looks at him.

"I have a reservation," he says.

The man named Derek raises his eyebrows at Cam, "name?" He asks.

Weirdly, Cam looks at me for a second, then back to Derek.

"Uh.. Mendes." Oh.
