Best Friend (Shawn Mendes)

You know that feeling when you're awake, and fully aware, but don't open your eyes. So, that's what I was doing currently. I didn't have to move to feel Shawn right there next to me. Man, I'm so glad he's with me.

The sunlight from the slightly cracked window is stinging my eyes and I finally open my eyes and blink a lot. I turn my body to face Shawn, but he's still in a deep sleep.

I turn back and look at the time, 11:27. Then my stomach feels all nervy as I remember we are going to the beach today! Yay. I mean, I've technically already been to the beach, but I haven't swam so that'll be a first.

I get out of bed slowly and try and get some clothes out of the dresser as quiet as possible, then go to the bathroom.

I've picked out some dark washed Jean shorts, and a short tee shirt with Aztec in the shape of a moon. My makeup bag remains in the bathroom from yesterday so I throw on some light eyeshadow, mascara, and concealer under my eyes.

I brush out my long, naturally straight hair-thank God- and exit the restroom. He's in the same position as I left and I smile to myself. He's so cute when he sleeps. I pull my phone out of my pocket and take a picture of him, then add it to Twitter.

Then I send it. I have a good amount of followers because Shawn and the others are little entertainers, and since I'm their friend.. I guess that's how fame works now-a-days.

I get multiple tweets to me like,

"He's such a cutie!"

"Omg let me come over!"

"Fr I wanna lay with him!"

And stuff. I glance back up at him, then slide my phone back into my pocket as I exit the room.

I'm greeted in the hallway by Matt, who looks like he just woke up as well. He stops and slows down so we can walk together, then he smiles.

"Good morning." he says happily.

"You too." I say awkwardly and we reach the kitchen.

Only a few people are up and down here. I see Nash, Aaron, and Jack J. Thank God no Cam and Jessica. I really hope she just went home last night and isn't coming to the beach today. I know you'll probably be like oh you don't even know her and shit.

It's like when you first meet someone, they give bad vibes and you know not to get involved with them. That's me and her.

Jack J smiles at me as he pulls out the bread from the cabinet. Nash and Aaron are sitting at the table watching tv.

"Did Jessica leave last night, or stay the night?" I ask randomly.

Jack puts on an awkward smile and untied the bread tie.

"She stayed the night.. Why?" He asks.

I sigh and roll my eyes, grabbing two slices of bread. "I don't really like her. I know I just met her and everyone yesterday but she's just been rude since," I say and slide the bread in the toaster.

He tilts his head back, "aah. I know how you feel. Whenever Jack gets a girlfriend I always feel neglected and shit.. I know where you're coming from," he says.

Matt places his hand on my back and looks down at me all of a sudden. "You excited for today?" He asks like everyone else.

I give a fake chuckle, "yes I am! I want to go as soon as possible please," I say.
