I had a nightmare-
a terrible one.
Maddox stared
accusing me.
My scream vibrated
Off the walls.
and Luke ran in.
My parents and siblings were still not home-
I wonder why.
Luke came and grasped,
My hand.
"it was just a nightmare-"
he said,
Soothingly.
My arms-
had a mind of their own,
and wrapped themselves
around his waist.
"Stay?"
I asked.
He slid in beneath the covers,
Cradling me.
Warm and snug.
