A loud horn blares through the air, startling me awake. Woah, my blue sky walls just got a little bit more realistic. The clouds actually look like they're moving! Oh wait, they are.

A strong gust of wind blows in my face and I just about fall over. Thank goodness I didn't because I seem to be thirty stories up.

Everything starts to come back to me. Bob, the bad guys, the house, Kansas. Oh Kansas, I have to go find him. For all I know, he could be in China right now.

"Liz?"

Or maybe right here.

"How did you get up here?" I ask Kansas. I don't remember him being able to fly.

"Oh, I just jumped windowsill to windowsill. Um... Do you think you could make all those people think they saw a bird?"

Of course he did that. I reach my mind out, searching for everyone that saw him. Two, five, seven, eleven, fifteen, nineteen, twenty four, thirty one, thirty seven, forty three. Forty three people saw him jumping up. Great. I look through all of their minds and look to see if they told anyone, by text or in person. Twenty of them did. He really didn't make this easy for me.

I wrap my mind around all of their brain waves and start to change their memories. The image of a bird jumping up the windowsill starts to ram into their memories. Most of them accept the image easily, but a few try to hold onto the memory and regect the image. I push the image in harder and finally their brain accepts it.

Then I tap into all of the minds of the people who told others and made them take it back by saying 'JK!' or 'kidding, but how cool would that be?'. I made one person, who was struggling to think of book ideas, say 'How does that sound for a story?'. You're welcome stranger.

"Okay, it's done." I say to Kansas.

"That's great, now let's get out of here."

"Yeah, okay"

I pick him up and prepare myself for flying. Giving a yawn, I stretch my toes and step of the edge. Instead of playing my little trick like last time, I shoot up into the air before any sees me.

I love flying, it's so relaxing. The wind against my face. The peace away from civilization. The air just seems to rock you asleep.

"Liz!" Kansas shout in my arms.

Oops, I guess I really was rocked asleep. I must have blacked out a bit because we're now one hundred feet lower than before.

"Sorry, I'm just exhausted. I probably just strained myself too hard when I cleaned up after your little stunt back there. I haven't practiced that in awhile." I say with a yawn.

"Maybe we should stop and rest for awhile?" Kansas says, failing to mask how nervous he is.

"No, no, I'm good. It's... all...good.." I say and then start to doze off.

"Elizabeth!"

"Ow! Did you just bite me?" I shriek at him.

"You were falling asleep!"

"You bit me!"

He just gives a grunt, clearly stating that this conversation is over. I sometimes wonder if he is really a teenage girl in a dogs body.

I start to land to give myself a break. I have been using my powers more than usual lately. I'll just take a quick nap and drive somewhere where I can hide out for awhile.

My feet hit the ground infront of an abandoned gas station somewhere in Montana. Near Missoula, I think. I read the thoughts of a driver passing by but who knows, they could be lost.

Deciding to use the rest of my energy, I grab a peice of a window from the gas station and turn it into a black Dodge ram 2500 with a canopy. It's always been my favorite truck. I turn an old peice of wood into a mattress, throw it into the back, and climb in. I almost fell asleep immediately but then I remembered Kansas fell asleep during the land so I have to crawl back out to where I left him.

I throw him in the back, not literally, push the back up to close it, hop in, and pull down the flap of the canopy down. Finally, sleep.

Have you guys ever been to Missoula, Montana? It's great. We got in a car crash around there so we had to stay in a Howard Johnsons (the hotel) for a few weeks while our truck got fixed, the same truck Elizabeth is sleeping in actually. There's an amazing carousel called A Carousel for Missoula. If you haven't been there, I highly suggest it.
