Text Talk, Populars and Demands!

Hi guys! Welcome to my very first rant! I hope it's entertaining as well as relatable.

1) What is it with authors and using text talk in their stories? Is it really that hard to write it all in full? If your characters are actually texting, or instant messaging, then fair enough, but if they're with each other PLEASEEEE don't use text talk. It turns most people off and makes them think you are too lazy to write properly.

2) "My name is Sarah. I have bright blue eyes that sparkle brightly whenever the sun shines in them. My long brown hair reaches my butt and is as dark as chocolate. I have slightly rounded hips, and I'm pretty tall."

Does it bother any one else when people start their stories like that? It is waaayy to over done and definitely not entertaining! Readers don't like to have details thrown at them all at once in such a manner that it makes them fall asleep. You want them to be EXCITED about reading your story! Find creative and fun ways to describe your character that won't bore the reader to death and make all mystery in the story disappear. 

3) Why do all the popular people in the school have to be complete assholes? Why can't there be a nice popular kid who gives everyone cookies and kittens? Sure there were the more popular people in my high school but they were never bitches, and those who were bitches, were never popular. Why would they be if all they do is be nasty to people? Most of the people on this site are in high school themselves so why don't they write about how high school is in reality?

4) Painfully obvious spelling mistakes -__- have they never heard of spellcheck, or a dictionary? Fair enough, for some, English isn't their first language, but is it so hard to find someone to proof read your story before you upload it? Wouldn't you prefer to read your story five times to make sure there were no mistakes before uploading it and making people think you're lazy, or a five year old who's still learning how to write their name properly?

5) Let's get one thing straight here…Demanding votes, comments and reads before you upload the next chapter of your story is NEVER going to work! It's only going to make people get sick of waiting for you to update. You shouldn't be writing for the votes and comments anyway! You should be writing for yourself and because you love it. Demanding votes and comments is like trying to force a cat to have a bath. They hate it and run away as fast as they can. Stop doing it!
