16) Not every person who is alive, is extremely sexually active. Especially twelve year olds! I see stories on this website where there are 12-14 year olds having sex with their new boyfriend every single day/chapter! As writers, isn't part of our job to send a good message to our readers? Not practically telling them that it's completely okay for you to have sex at 13 years old. Heck, I'm 21 and I haven't slept with anyone yet! There are still people these days that wait for the person that they feel is worth it, and don't sleep with every person that blinks at them on the street. Yes, sex is a part of every relationship, but it's not everything. There are other ways for people to show love for each other. Especially young teenagers! Make them go to the movies, or a theme park like normal teenagers!
17) werewolf rejection stories. Now, I have no problem reading a werewolf story when it's well written. However, I can not STAND when a werewolf rejects their mate. That person is their mate for a reason, and they shouldn't be able to reject them, physically, or mentally! They aren't supposed to cheat on them and try fall in love with someone else. If that person is their mate, there is a reason for that, and it will be natural to them that they love this person and accept them for who they are. Not reject them because they're not pretty, rich, or smart enough.
18) Stereotypes. I don't think there is anything worse. Especially when it comes to writing. I myself, have started writing a vampire story. I advertise my story on various websites multiple times a week, but I still get barely any reads, because everyone just assumes that it's going to be exactly like twilight with sparkling vampires. They never take the time to read the story and find out for themselves that my story is nothing like twilight. Everyone needs to look past stereotypes and give authors and their stories a chance. There are some amazing stories out there that just don't get reads because people can't look past the fact that it's a vampire, or werewolf story.
19) 'My English Teacher Is My Boyfriend, AND He's A Werewolf Alpha?!' Anyone seen stories with title like that? It gives away the whole entire story in just the title. Try coming up with a title that will subtly tell the reader what the story is about. If the title is like that, then there's absolutely no point in reading the story because you've already told us everything about it in the title. If your story is about your teacher who you are dating and he's the Alpha of a werewolf pack, then call it 'Authority' or something like that. It gives away that he's a teacher, and an authoritative figure, but doesn't give the entire story away.
20) Stories that move way too fast annoy the hell out of me. The conflict is realised and solved by the 4 or 5 chapter and there's still 5 billion chapters remaining of the story. Take your time writing it guys, it might seem slow to you when you're writing it, but when you're the reader, it's a perfect pace. It's not nice to have fact and dialogue and events shoved into your face when you're reading. There's a story by P.C and Kristin Cast in the House of Night book series that is a whole 30-something chapter long book and the whole book is the course of ONE day. That's it. Just ONE day. Keep it at a nice comfortable pace guys.
