"It could have been worse but it should have been better!" I heard Dallas say angrily.

"Now don't blame yourself Dally, it isn't your fault. " Darry said.

"Man I ain't blaming myself for nothing!" Dallas said sassily before I heard a pair of feet hit the floor and just walk away, out the door.

I sat up from the couch, groaning just a little bit and making eye contact with Darry. The covers I had on me were old so they slid off me and I placed both my feet on the ground. I was still wearing my black boots and a white shirt, and of course some blue jeans that were thankfully put back on me after I got cleaned up.

"You know what happened yesterday?" Darry asked, standing up from his recliner and putting his newspaper down.

I didn't want more drama to be started and I knew that so far no one knew it was Curly so I shook my head no. There wasn't any guilt in lying to him, there's never been a time in my life where I've felt bad about something.

"That's alright. Dallas found you outside of Buck's place all beat up." Darry said. "But he did say you were awake, sure you don't remember?"

"Yeah, I just told you I didn't remember anything!" I chocked out before standing up. I was determined to get out of these boys hair, they had enough going on with Soda right now.

"Now hold up a minute, it isn't wise for you to be walking around, it'll only make things worse!" Darry said standing up and walking towards me.

"Stop, I don't need you baby sitting me." I said starting to walk towards the door.

Two Bit walked into the front room with a slice of chocolate cake looking at us. "Well of course you do, Baby, how old are you fifteen or something?" He said while shoving another piece of the cake in his mouth.

I smirked "Im sixteen, get it correct."

"Sixteen smickstten, your still a baby." Two Bit said "Just stay here for now, Pony boy and Johnny need a new friend anyways." He said motioning to the two boys.

My hand touched the door handle for support, my legs hurt so bad I just wanted to lay down but I didn't need Two Bit or Darry to know that.

"Look at yourself kid, you're shaking like a wet dog." Darry said, taking me by the arms and putting me back on the couch in a sitting position. I didn't have the energy to stand back up, so I just sat there. Darry and Two Bit where looking at me while Pony boy, Johnny and Steve were sleeping on the ground. Soda was probably in his room and I could blame him, Sandy's note wasn't pretty.

Once I landed on the couch Steve started to stir in his sleep before he woke up. He yawned and made a really funny face, and Two Bit giggled.

"Close your mouth before flys start flying in there." Two Bit said with his mouthful of cake. Steve rubbed his eyes and stood up from the ground.

"Man" he said stretching out his back "That floor sure is hard." That's when Steve started to look around.

"Where's Soda?" he said before beginning to walk up the stairs, the boy already knew where Soda was. From my position on the couch I heard a door open and close but in between I could've swore I heard the faintest cry.

We all just stood there for a second, the gloomy atmosphere in room thickening. I could tell they felt bad for Soda and I, they were probably just sad that they couldn't physically fix him like they had me.

Pony boy and Johnny simultaneously woke up, stirring around like Steve had earlier. They looked around the room and stopped when they saw me.

"What happened to you?" Pony boy said while standing up and walking up to me. He sat next to me and looked all around my arms, which were mostly boot shaped bruises and a couple gashes from Curly's switchblade.

"Just a run-in with the wrong person I guess, I don't remember." I said coolly while leaning back onto the couch. "Do you got a smoke?"

Two bit walked over and handed me a weed, which I put in my mouth, but I was so shaky it kept falling out. He kept trying to light it for me though, following the movement of the cigar with the flame.

Two Bit turned around "Is there a ghost over my shoulder!" he said laughing a little. Then he took it from my lips and lit it before handing it back to me and winking.

"Onwards, Superman!" he yelled before jumping on Darry's back and pointing his hand forward towards the door. Darry stumbled a little bit before running forward and bucking Two Bit off. Two Bit started laughing and hit his knees before leaving the house, slamming the door loudly.

"You mind if me and Johnny go to the Dingo tonight?" Pony boy said, looking at Darry. Darry just nodded and they left, and that's when I noticed that the sun was starting to set, me and everyone else slept through most of the day!

"I would ask if you wanted to go, Baby, but..." Pony boy said looking down at me. I smirked and nodded my head, giving him a free pass to go.

Steve came down the stairs a few seconds after the boys left, shaking his head.

"He won't come out, he barely even turned to look at me." Steve said, his complicated swirly hair moving along with his head. After that, he left the house to go who-knows-where.

Darry sat back down on his seat in the couch before flipping out his newspaper and glasses. I guessed he didn't want to talk either, but I didn't want to be bored here all day.

"I think I'm better now." I said, moving off the couch and begging to limp towards the door.

"No your not." Darry said coldly, flipping the paper, did he not like me or something?

"Don't tell me what I'm not." I said looking at him and snapping my fingers. That's when I feel to the floor from moving to quickly. Dang it.

I was halfway between the couch and the door on the ground when Dallas opened the door, a girl following in behind him.

"What are you doing?" Dallas said harshly while looking at me. I shrugged and looked at his girl, she wore heavy eye makeup and had a weed in her hand. She had tan skin and long black hair and was almost the size of Dallas. I though, had medium length light brown hair and pale freckled skin, plus I am only about five feet tall. The shorted you are the closer you are to Hell you know.

"What do you want!" she said rudely, spitting onto me.

I stood up and looked up at her for a second, trying to intimidate her before punching her in her face and jumped on her while she was crouched down. The girl then proceeded to yell at me every swear word she knew before shoving me off of her. She was about to jump onto me when Dallas jumped in and took the girl by the arms, kicking and screaming against him.

"Stop being a dumb--- Sylvia!" Dallas yelled "Can't you see she's beat up enough already!" then he took his girl out of the house, walking away again just like that. I could her screaming from the distance and her calling me naughty names and asking why my name was 'Baby'. I smirked, she was gonna be a pain to have around I thought before looking down at myself, I was bleeding everywhere.

"Baby!" I heard Darry yell as he got out of his arm chair and ran over to me.

"Oops." I said smiling up at him. "She wasn't gonna get away with spitting on me."

Darry's face relaxed "Well its couch for you for tonight." he said, laying me down so that I got to look out of the window where to world every slowly got darker. I laid back and closed my eyes, I hated to see the world become dark and cold, I hated sunsets.
