"Can we have Ashton Irwin, Michael Clifford, and Luke Hemmings to the principal's office please?" the voice over the intercom asked their history teacher.
"Yes, they'll be right there after they finish this test," she answered looking up at the boys who were still quietly working along with the rest of the class.
"Do you think they could finish the test another time? This is very urgent," the announcer said, catching the boys' and the teacher's attention, all wondering what it was that could've been so important.
"Okay, they'll be right there," the teacher said motioning for them all to go.
Luke, Michael, and Ashton all hurried to gather their things and handed in their tests before exiting the class room and making their way to the principal's office.
Ashton knocked on the door when they arrived, all do them anxious to know what was going on.
"Come in," Mr. Rogers, the principal, called.
They hesitantly opened the door and stood in front of the desk, giving him a formal greeting first then waiting on him to begin talking.
"Boys, I just wanted to tell you that we got a call from the hospital this morning regarding the student, Calum Hood. Michael, your mom is here to take you boys there to see what happened, but don't worry it's nothing bad. Also, you all will not have to come to school for the rest of the week so that you can help out with everything going on with Calum right now since I am sure things will be hectic. We've already informed all of your teachers about this, and I hope everything that happens turns out okay for you boys," their principal said.
All three of them nodded and thanked him, barely processing everything that he said and only worried about getting to the hospital as fast as possible.
They rushed outside and met Michael's mom at the car, not even saying anything, and immediately started driving off to the hospital.

When they arrived, they were all immediately escorted to Calum's room by his doctor. Apparently there was some fantastic news to tell them.
They stopped outside of Calum's door, waiting there anxiously.
"Do you all want to go in at once? If you do, you cannot approach him at the same time as we normally don't let more than one person in at a time anyway during times like these, but we are allowing it just this once," Dr. Stevens asked.
Ashton, Luke, and Michael all nodded, ready for the doctor to open the door.
"Remember: stay calm. We know you'll be excited, but stay calm," he told them.
They nodded, wanting him to just open the door already. When he did, they found out that they weren't really ready.
They weren't ready at all to finally see the boy they missed so much sitting up and resting against the metal headboard of the hospital bed, eyes cast down at his blanket as he fiddled with it nervously.
Calum was finally awake.
